Clothes Washing Question

My daughter washed one of her twins tee shirts (blue) 60% cotton and 40% polyester. She didn't see the sticker he stuck to it. She washed it on cold and dried it on low for a few minutes, then hung it to dry all the way. There is still some pieces of sticker on it and some of the sticky residue which is white on the blue shirt. What is the best way to try and remove it. She read on line to freeze it for a while, rinse in water and scrub with a microfiber cloth/sponge.

Anyone had this problem? TIA

Had a similar sticky problem with a beautiful sham whose zipper went wonky and tried to fix it with sticky fabric tape. ( crazy idea that went wrong )

Long story short, it has taken several machine washings and bouts of straight blue Dawn rubbed in liberally.

I think I also used Astonish Stain bar to get the last of the stickiness out of the fabric.

If you want the stain bar: order from Starcrest dot com for approx. $5.

( The youngster May outgrow that size shirt before she gets the problem out ! )

Goo Gone works well in removing sticky labels. Don't know if it would stain the fabric though. Try the freezing first.

Another vote for Goo Gone. When polar fleece first came out and was popular my daughter put a school name tag sticker on it and it took it off.

I’d try spraying dawn power wash on it let it set a few mins and work at getting it off with maybe an old credit card
Dawn power wash won’t hurt the color I use it on stains on clothes constantly

Last week, I got a huge glob of pine sap (from walking under the tree) on a "nice" shirt. I got it out with nail polish remover.

It's usually a gamble on what works...

One good tip I did read for this was to put a piece of sticky tape over the sticky glue and pull it off. Keep repeating until all the sticky parts are gone then use white vinegar or alcohol to get rid of any residue remaining.

If none of the below work, I think the shirt is a goner. Worst case it may transfer gunk in subsequent washings.

If none of the other suggestions work find a cute, age and interest appropriate applique and put it over the stain.

I have a top that is adorned by a bumble bee that covers a stain.

If crafty fabric paint can also work to cover a stain.

@Marp while reading @WORKING GAL Post I kept saying applique, applique and when I got to your Post I realize you said the same thing.

Just last week I put a star on a stain on one of my blouses. I have another one now so I'm trying to decide which one I should use.

Boys love trucks and that would be great if nothing else works, except maybe his twin brother might want one also.
