In the HS where I taught, was a library assistant that was reared in a small mountain town.

She started some sentences with "Of a night....". "Of a night we had the best dinner.".

I was never sure if it was every night or the other night!

Our housekeeper used to say "Little girls is delicate!!!!". I was usually on a horse.

my father's-

That quarter (or any amount of $) is burning a hole in her pocket.

That one just got up and walked off the plate. (referring to when some beans were actually insects in the army)-yick!

If next years a good year... and he would add anything like we'll get you some dinner, or you can have a drink of water, especially when some one of us was waiting for dinner or hadn't gotten a drink yet.

We thought that was funny.

That was good. What there was of it. (referring to a meal).

A lot of these came from his real experiences in the army.
