Yes, I know WHO to thank, but I just have to say something....

My washer quit spinning during the last two loads (had to twist the dial to get it to work)....but, tonight I took a "last chance".... and the darn old (35 yrs) thing WORKED. I am truly grateful! di

Awwwwww!🥰 I am SO happy things worked out for you!!❤ What a wonderful BLESSING it was indeed!🙏 There is nothing worse when doing laundry than to have the washer QUIT on you, and then have to hand wring the clothes.😐 I have had that awful, sudsy misfortune!😁 It is funny how things like that happen at the most inopportune time; just when we need clean clothing the most!🤪

Wow!! 35 years. That great. They don't make things like they used to.

Mine is 20+ years and I need to buy a new one too. Sometimes it has standing water and not sure why. It doesn't happen every time though.

I understand completely! My washer (19 years old) wouldn't turn on a few months ago. In 19 years, it had never done that before. I thought it was dead in the water. Unplugged it for around 30 seconds--still nothing. Got out my book, and it said to leave it unplugged for 60 seconds, and that did the trick. Whew! The only thing we can surmise is that perhaps we got a power surge. In my head, I was already making plans to go to my MIL's to finish my laundry and was going to head to our only store that sells Speed Queen to put in my order for the TR7, which is what I will be getting next.

Ill tell you what, id much rather have an older model washer than the new! In fact, we know an appliance repair guy and always buy the old kind because at least they can be fixed cheaper. Those new ones give out and there's no hope.

My old washer that I loved gave out a few years ago. I hate my new one, doesn't do the job my old Kenmore did. Hang onto that old one as long as you can.

I say a little prayer evertime I put a load in mine. I bought it new in 1995. It's a Kitchenaid and it's NOT a dishwasher.

You dodged a bullet, and I understand feeling blessed. My Whirlpool washer and dryer is still going strong at 22 years. I have no desire to purchase a new one. As others have noted the new ones do not last for ******. I think my brother and SIL are on their third washer and dryer set in the same time frame.

I have rethought my earlier response about my brother and SIL. The first set that they had was used and the washing machine went out. Then the purchased a new washing machine and used with the older dryer, and both that brand new washer and the old dryer went out. The set that they have now is was new and they have had that for I am guessing around 5 or 6 years.
