And maybe it's a dumb one, or I should already know the answer..

If you search for a past friend, and then after looking at their page, you decide you don't want to contact them...as long as you don't message them or anything....

Do they know you looked at their page?

Giggle...that's called Facebook Stalking...and we've all done it. Anyone who says they don't....they're lying!!! My philosophy....if it's private, then don't put it out on a public forum. Go for it..and p.s...it's not a dumb question. Lots of people wonder about tracking.

This is a past friend that I wondered about and thought I would like to get in touch with again. People do use FB to find friends, relatives, etc?

After seeing their page, I realized, not a person I have anything in common with anymore.

I don't want them to get in touch with me, which is the reason for my question.

I once googled an old friend's name and ended up getting a link to his wife's tweets - where she insulted him repeatedly and mercilessly to her brother....it was like watching a train wreck!

I never mentioned it to him...but I always wondered if she knew I saw them (no I Didn't follow her and didn't check out her FB!)

I don't know if they do it now as I go by a fake name no one knows, but there used to be a link that showed who searched for your name.

As a general rule, I've stopped looking up people because I don't even want someone to see my fake name. If I do watch someone's page, I do so directly and skip the search entirely.

OK, I don't use Facebook often and so I'm not so savvy with it.

But I wished a friend happy birthday because I had been notified it was her birthday. I did it on Comment. Then hit enter. I saw it there, but in another day, I didn't see my wish but I saw others. Did she take it down?
