Do You Have Glasses for the the Solar Eclipse on April 8?

DH - in his usual understated way - said a while ago, "No big deal." He didn't think we would see much because we're not in the path. I started reading a lot about it. They're closing school for the day, and a shopping area near us is having an all-day "Eclipse Party," with food, DJ's, and items for sale.

So I panicked and ordered glasses for us! They're supposed to be here Saturday. I don't know where we will be - hopefully home - but at least we'll have our glasses!

I guess we all need something fun to distract us for a while!

No, I have no intension of watching it. I have watched eclipses before...interesting, but once you have seen one...well, they're all alike.

I am in an area that will be at about 85%. I still have eclipse glasses from the 2017 eclipse. I don't know if I'll get to use them since the latest weather report shows that this area will be cloudy.

I'm counting on the local weather people's lack of accuracy.

Yes, we've had them for well over a year.

We are in the path of totality. We have our moonpies, and sun chips ready to go. We will be drinking Tequila Sunrises.

We will probably all be sick the next day. 😀

@beach-mom We're in eastern PA, but my grandchildren are near Pittsburgh, so they are just outside the zone. However, they have off from school for the event, and they have their glasses ready. Can't wait to watch the videos!

Yes. Ordered from Amazon and received them the next day. My daughter's school are allowing kids to stay home that day to watch it and be excused.

I do not understand at all the big whoop about this. It's nothing that is new or different, it happens, it gets darker for awhile. Have seen them and thought well, ok that was that.

It gets dark. It does that 365 a year.

We will see a small portion here in SE MD but I still wanna look. I got my glasses yesterday on my lunch hour from our local library for FREE. The shipping on most sites was more than the glasses so... I got 6 pair. Most libraries do give them out for free.

No I have not even gone to look for any. We are in the path of totality but that day is being forecast as cloudy and rain.
