He's lucky to get much less than the maximum sentence sought by federal prosecutors.

And never, ever invest in something you don't understand completely, regardless of what your broker/accountant/financial advisor/banker tells you.

His lawyers are planning an appeal.

I did not follow this case closely but there were other CEOs involved. Is Bankman the only one convicted?

What about restitution? Would donated money

have to be returned? What about items purchased with his continual gains?

I am not knowledgeable about crypto currency enough other than knowing many people lost tremendous amounts of money

I do feel 25 years is adequate, however.

As for his parents, I gather you are not aware of the various civil lawsuits against them? Alleges they helped run their son's crypto empire.

This guy had to be intelligent to run such a scheme and dupe so many people. It's a shame he didn't use his drive and intelligence to succeed honestly. He could have.

But, he reeks of antisocial personality disorder. Not hearing any heartfelt remorse, which is typical of such individuals.

He got what he deserved. Not sorry, or sad for him. He knew what he was doing. Sad for those who loved and cared for him and didn't know what he was up to. It was probably a shocker for many of them, or maybe it wasn't.

He may look like "the boy next door" dressed in his nice suit, but he's no better than any other common thief. Worse than many as he badly victimized so many people.

Twenty-five years is all he got. He'll be 57 when he gets out of jail, plenty young enough to do more damage.

I wonder if he'll have to shave his head, as inmates often do.

Yes, his parents Bankman and Fried are sorry that Sam is no longer around to funnel money to them. Well, at least not for the next twenty-five years.

What's sad is that people were so greedy that they fell for Bankman-Fried's scam, and he took advantage of that. I wouldn't have trusted him from the beginning.

BTW if it were my son I would disown him.
