Hot Air Balloon Crashes into Live Power Lines - Minnesota

I was glad to see there were folks who stopped immediately to help til authorities arrived.

Oh my! I have a fear of being trapped by downed power lines. That's so dangerous! I'm so glad to hear there were people who stayed with them until authorities arrived. I pray no one was hurt.❤️

I read there were no serious injuries. They were fortunate.

A hot air balloon crashes into a power line along Highway 63 in Rochester, Minnesota and it was all caught on a MnDOT camera around 6 p.m. and shared on social media.

You could see sparks as the balloon made contact with the live wires.

A fire captain told a local tv station that the basket got hung up on the power lines which eventually gave way and it dropped to the ground.

Miraculously all four people in the basket are okay with only minor injuries.

The sparking wires also set off a grass fire that crews had to get out.

The balloon floated about a mile east of the scene.

As beautiful as they are there always seems to be a balloon accident or crash.

The same with the air shows.

I know there are many people who like both.

They are beautiful, but I'd rather observe, than ride in one. No landing gear....need I say more? They are so neat to see all afloat on a beautiful day.

Just saw this on my local morning news. Scary, indeed. Between hitting the power lines and the drop down, especially near a busy highway, they were lucky all they sustained were minor injuries. 🎈

The basket was hung on the power lines. The balloon floated away. The people fell in the basket from the height of where they had been hanging.
