How many times have you dropped your dinner plate

on the floor with your dinner on it?

I was looking forward to my nice porkchop, gravy and salad today. I was coming around the corner and for some reason I bent over and watched my whole plate hit the carpet.

I think that's the first time I've ever dropped a whole dinner. A cookie maybe once or twice. 5 second rule

I could cry! I was cleaning up the mess and couldn't find the porkchop and hoped the kitties didn't get it but I found it in the trashcan.

No way to save any of it.

@luvmyteddy4. So sorry for you lost plate. I never did that but would cry if I did since I only rarely cook real food these days.

I dropped a WHOLE ROAST once. So, I rinsed it off, and put it back on the platter.

@luvmyteddy4, you are not alone. I have done it more than once. Last time it was a plate of lasagna all over the carpet.

I have never dropped a dinner plate or any plate of food, but I dump my drink a few times a month.

My husband insists on watching TV in the dark with the light on from the TV. I dump the drink over while trying to locate the glass.

The last time I did it was last evening, and the glass was full. I am thinking about using a sippy cup.

I slipped on some stairs while trying to hold on to a tray full of food at a restaurant one time. Plates with food went flyin' as I tried to conceal my embarrassment in a room full of people.

I dropped the Thanksgiving turkey once bc it was too heavy for me to lift out of the oven & balance it. I tossed it in the trash, & we had turkey for Christmas that year instead.

I did drop my full dinner plate on the dining room tile floor once. It was on purpose. That's all I'll say about that.

Oh that stinks, so sorry that happened.

Could it have been your wrist? I was just thinking how after 17 months since breaking my ankle that it's only been a few months where I feel it is stable again and pretty much back to pre-break. That's over a year for me to feel normal and confident when walking, climbing stairs etc.

Drop a plate of food? Never. I always place my plate, side dishes, linens and silverware on a gorgeous tray. I have a few and like to use different ones in different seasons.

Sometimes I remove it all on the table and sometimes, if watching a show, leave it all on the tray. This is what I've done when there are animals underfoot, and I prefer to avoid accidents.

There are some very pretty trays out there.

I had my plate on one of those silicone plates and I bent over to do something and I guess I forgot the plate was in my hand. lol

I eat in bed so...that's my story

I rarely cook a whole meal either. My neighbor gave me the porkchop yesterday to cook.

A couple times come to mind, once I was taking a very large very hot pizza out of the oven and it got away from me pretty quickly, it ended up upside down, yes toppings and cheese side down all over the floor. What a mess!

Another time my husband was opening a can of beer, it spurted and foamed and spilled all onto the carpet, what another mess!! He insists he didn't shake it, but he also tends to swing his arms when he walks, so I think it got shook just enough on the way from the fridge to the couch.

Also one time I had made for dinner pork chops and mashed potatoes and vegetables and I had a plate all fixed for when my son got home and I had it on the kitchen table to cool a bit before I covered it. Well a bat had gotten in and was flying around and by the time it was caught, I didn't want to take any chances that it may have droppings, so I threw the entire dinner in the trash.

The bat had gotten into the basement and then flew up into the kitchen.

@PepperMintTea @A bat got into my parents house once. My sister, mom and I were screaming. The dogs were losing their minds. My poor father, who got a neighbor and between the two of them got it out.

I have! I also have a lot of cats and lots of fur. I did think about it for a second until I pulled the porkchop out of the trash can.

Reminds me of something we still tease my son about 25 years later... he was carrying a whole platter of chicken in from the grill and dropped the whole thing in the driveway. I don't know what we ended up eating that night lol

I just remembered an occasion when my youngest granddaughter was visiting. She was around 3 years old.

I fried a large platter of chicken and was carrying it to the table. My GD was laying on the kitchen floor wrapped up in a blanket and I didn't see her.

My foot hit her and I felt myself falling. I didn't want to fall on her or dump hot chicken on her either. Somehow, I threw the platter away from me and tried to catch my fall. I did fall, but thankfully not on her.

I broke the platter and ended up throwing all that chicken out.

This same kid has done some pretty dumb things over the years...it's a wonder she is still alive. But she is on the Dean's list in college, so she book smart.

I have a walker with a tray..the only use it gets is transfering dishes of food from the kitchen to the living room..Oh I do use it also when I have a 12 qt. pot of boiling pasta water.

I did have an oven mess and ruined dinner when my temptaions"lasagna" pan cracked in the oven.

Sent DH out for pizzas for my company.

There is NO WAY on this good earth that I'm going to toss a whole turkey just because it hit the floor! We don't have inside pets and my kitchen floor is steam cleaned, so my family of 4 would've eaten the turkey!
