Post Office Delivery Issue

I was expecting a QVC delivery today from the Post office according to tracking notification. Came home from Church and had a email from QVC that my package was delivered around 11:19 am at my front door/porch. ( I live in a apartment) Hum, I have a ring camera, NO PACKAGE !! Post office is closed today but I will be calling tomorrow. They also delivered someones mail to my mailbox on Saturday. I will be returning it to the mail person on Monday. The main post office is running adds here to hire more people to train for postal workers as there is a shortage and people are complaining of delays in mail and package deliveries. What's it like in your area ? Any delivery problems with the post office ? I'm in St. Louis, I called QVC and they are reshipping my order and if my original package gets delivered I can return it with no return fee.

I always check my email every morning for informed delivery from USPS. Last week on Monday it showed that I was going to receive 2 1099 interest tax forms on Monday.

They showed up on Wednesday. I wouldn't get concerned right away. The Postal Service department is backed up. Yo will probably get the original order tomorrow or Tuesday.

I often get packages marked as delivered on the next day. I would wait.

Lots of issues here. Delayed mailings (envelopes) by weeks. Send a check and the recipient just might get it a month later...about 20 mile trip.

Postmaster says there aren't enough "qualified" people for the jobs.

I ask..."not enough people or not enough who can do the job?"

He responded..."there are lots of people, not enough who can do the job."

How difficult is it to work at a local post office?

I do too! Not just the PO that does this. A lot of times my Amazon packages say delivered and they show up a few hours later.

I have found that that cheaper mail where UPS hands off to post office creates e-mails to me that says it is delivered,but it means UPS delivered it to the post off. They the PO will deliver it to me in a day or two.

You wanna know HOW MANY times I went to see the Postmaster personally? The most recent time they had declared me dead and my house abandoned.

We have been lucky that our USPS delivery has been wonderful. UPS is the one I worry about around here.

It's a job I would never want, no matter the pay. Right up there with UPS.

People who don't shovel their walks or secure their dogs. Counter people who get abused because a stamp went up by a nickel....city carriers who walk a route on 8Mile in Detroit.

Multiply the complaints here by 100. Every single day.

No letter delivery but I have gotten packages on Sunday. Doesn't the post office deliver packages on Sunday everywhere ? I know they don't deliver mail but I have seen post office trucks deliver packages on Sunday.

I just got a package delivered today by USPS. I've had many packages delivered on Sunday by them.

Feb 12 is Lincoln's Birthday....NOT a federal holiday, but celebrated in numerous states

The guy that regularly delivers to my building is fantastic. I live on the 3rd floor and most of the delivery companies just drop it on the floor in the lobby and call it delivered. The postman will leave it in my mailbox if it fits. If the package is very large or heavy he will bring it to my door. Sometimes he will see one from another company and bring that one up. I'm pretty sure he is not supposed to to that.

The post office does deliver packages on Sunday for other delivery companies. These are delivered by a different person who just does the drop and run.

My biggest pet peeve is the delivery notice from Amazon stating my package was left in the mail room. I'd like to shout at them that we don't have a mailroom it's a public lobby that happens to have secure mail boxes in it.

@Goodie2shoes. That happened to me Friday, no package in the box. However, it was there today either delivered by USPS or was misdirected and a neighbor put it in my mailbox. Guess I'll never know.

The third Monday in February is a Federal Holiday. Washington's Birthday

@Sooner. Mine never say "delivered" until the USPS actually puts it into my mailbox.

You are absolutely correct about postal workers. We have a close family friend who is one.
