Facebook issues - don't panic

Facebook and a few other entities are having issues this morning. Don't panic like I did and think you have been hacked. It is widespread.

@JillyMarie , thank you so much for this info. For the past hour or so, I've been trying to log into Facebook with no luck. Have you heard exactly what is wrong and when it might be fixed?

Thanks, @JillyMarie! I went through the same thoughts this morning after trying to get in but checked with a couple of friends and they had the same issue so checked out DownDetector. What a relief!! But no Facebook, Messenger nor Instagram with my morning coffee!!! Ack!! lol

Haven't seen any cause or fix reported yet.

I have 3 Facebook accounts and can't get on any of them. Called my sister and hers is down too. I wonder if they were hacked?

It was not hacked both fb and insta were down and now they are back

I was having some problems this morning with Instagram. Went to another browser and the same so I just felt the fault was on the site and not mine. Checked again a few minutes ago and all is working fine now.

My DH was worried about a hack, but I said wait. So we did, and voila it's back.

Too late for me too. I was actually online and it kicked me out. As it is, I've already lost a gardening group I was in a few months ago due to either a hack or a facebook glitch. They blocked me, so I can't even see them to plead my case. So, I panicked since I was afraid a hacker might mess with the groups that I own.

I tried to reset my password and that worked but it wouldn't accept changing the password, or so I thought. THEN, I thought to check Down Detector.

I'm able to get back in now using the new password I was trying to change it to, so I guess it did go through. But, I'm still unable to get in on my phone. Not a huge deal. I rarely use my phone for FB except sometimes when I'm away from the house.

Last night on the news, they said there was a scam going on in facebook, not to click on any links.

@Zitawins , I am sure it is not a matter of surviving but most people were concerned they were hacked and wanting to let other people know it is widespread.
