Bad news for the Amarillo area. Coming over from your side of the world.

Possible rain (that's good) Sat.

1-3 inches of snow possible by Sunday morning.

I'm set for it. Went out and gassed up the van, got food before the stampede, hit the bakery, LOL I left the house just after 8.

I got plenty of DVD's and books, so, I'm happy.

@SharkE. We're supposed to get that this evening before it rushes over your way. However, odds are we'll get some mist and MAYBE an inch of snow. Big maybe.

It's been the same story all winter. Snow all over the mountains but there's a big hole on radar over Albuquerque. We've gotten virtually no moisture. Officially we have "extreme drought">.

I can sit in my living room and look at the snow on the Sandias but can't touch any.

Suppose to be getting 2-6" snow here in Colorado Springs. I've already called my snowblower guy just in case it gets too much where I can't shovel it myself. Hoping it won't be that heavy wet stuff...ugh!

As someone from the NE, it is funny to read about gassing up cars, stampede over food shopping etc. for possibly 1-3" of snow. I don't mean to be rude but I find that funny.

@cookie16. They do it in my sister's area in suburban Philly. As soon as I hear they might get snow, I call and tease her about getting milk and bread. She says the grocery stores are inundated.

@cookie16 In general, people who live in this neck of the woods get ready because we don't have snow removal eqipment much because we don't get that much. Also, roads freeze and snow melts and refreezes making travel problematic.

We also tend to get ice many times in cold weather instead of snow. So you gas up and stock up, because it's the way it works where we live. I sure wouldn't trade places with anyone who deals with lots of snow. But I do check the milk, eggs and bread before weather moves in.

I feel the same way when people say "Oh, it's so hot

here it's in the 90's ". I think big deal 105 here. LOL

Up in Ind. where I"m originally from. Southern part around Evansville every Feb. it would be bad.

Makes me so mad to see people running around in shorts and work out gym clothes when it's windy as all get out and temperature is in 20's.

Best thing about Tx is if it does snow doesn't last as long as up North. My husband fell on the ice up there

and his hip was never the same. After that he said
"we're not going to Fl. but Tx seems close enough in

price and religious ideals we can't stay up here".

Have no kids and if we did they wouldn't care anyway.

@kachina did you know Tx halved their property tax?

I got my tax bill and called them up and said "is this for

6 months and not the annual bill"? They said "no, they reduced the property tax rate by 50%". Course, nobody told the insurance it went up a fortune.

Tax decrease was for the Amarillo area. I don't know if it was for all of Tx. I just assumed it was, but, I'm happy. they must had raised it on something else. LOL

@SharkE. I think my property tax has almost doubled in the 24+ years I've lived in NM. This state has so much oil and gas money they can't spend it all. I assume you still have the homestead provision which always gave ne a nice tax break.

Of course we have the state income tax which is a PIA.

We stayed in a cabin there. Nice. Didn't like that sliding glass door in the bedroom , though. LOL I put something in the door track . LOL

Don't think Tx has a state tax ?
