King Charles has cancer, Buckingham Palace has announced. He is undergoing treatment and has cancelled all public engagements.

Yes, thanks, @MorningLover -- the BBC said that the cancer, which hasn't been identified, is not prostate cancer, but was discovered due to his recent prostate procedure.

Sounds like that procdure may have done him a favor, in revealing this new diagnosis. Hoping for the best for him as he steps back and undergoes treatment.

I pray for anyone facing that. A friend of ours had very successful treatment for a similar situation. Not sure if the same, but it was a great outcome--as I hope this will be.

This is a *new* diagnosis-- this cancer was discovered as a result of his well-publicized treatment for an enlarged prostate. They have said, it is not prostate cancer, but have not identified what it is.

Early diagnosis and treatment of cancer is very important. I state this from personal experience. In July of 2023 I was diagnosed with an unexpected (and unwelcome) Endometrial Cancer. It was in the early stages. With surgery and radiation, I am recovering. Next week I have a medical checkup and in late April I have another checkup. I am very hopeful that the cancer is OUT of my body.

Please, please, everyone: if you or a loved one have any suspicious health issues that could possibly indicate cancer, seek medical help. The medical technology doctors and other professionals in the medical field have at their disposal is quite impressive.

You must be PROACTIVE. Time is so important: the earlier the diagnosis, the better your chances for recovery and survival.

Of course, King Charles will receive outstanding medical treatment. I hope he is a good patient and is fully restored to good health with the help of his medical team.

I pray it was caught early whatever form of cancer it is , and it looks like they did . Catching early is always the key . Having his prostrate procedure actually was helpful in detecting. I wish him well .

CNN is reporting that Prince Harry has spoken with his father and will be returning to the UK in the ccoming days.

Wow. Such sad news. I grew up in a world where Prince Charles was always there.

I am glad Harry will be going to see him.

This is a shock to the royal family and the rest of the UK. William will be running things for a while, but I have no doubt he will be able to do it.

I will be praying for the King, his medical staff, his family, and the people of the UK.

We don't know exactly what is going on. Usually prostrate cancer is very treatable, but as you said @Oznell, the BBC says it is not that. Harry's returning to England so quickly has me concerned.

@ahoymate I know I thought that myself . I don't want to think that though , I do wish him well and good health . Positive energy can work wonders .
