No one is forgetting people killed in WW2. We must acknowledge and end the systematic starvation and slaughter of innocents that is now before our eyes before it becomes as drastic.

Surveys have revealed a lack of knowlege today about the Holocaust, particularly among Millennials and Gen Z. There are also Holocaust deniers and lately, an increase in Anti-Semitism not just in the U.S. but world wide.

Yes, kudos to QVC for bringing this to their shoppers' attention.

I'm ashamed I didn't know of or forgot? this National Holocost Remembrance day. I read it was started in 2005 by the UN.

I must have been in lala land or navigating the shark waters of life or something all these years.

There is another Holocost remembrance day every spring in Israel, started in 1949.

Of course I and I know others will never forget and not just the designated day of remembrance.

I agree @I am still oxox, it was good of QVC to have a banner reminder.

Thank you so much for posting this. Sadly, it's true. Hard to imagine that 1 in 4 Gen Zers don't believe the Holocaust really happened! What on earth is going on with the world!

Seems to be no time or interest in the schools teaching World history or American History for the last 10-20 yrs . Not sure what's going on in schools but the disinigration of families is not helping either . I loved history class and would come home and discuss what I learned with my Grandparents and parents who lived through major world events .

It's still hard to imagine that people could do those horrific things to other human beings. But we know it can happen and pray that it doesn't.

I wasn't aware of that. That is chilling and must come from their parents.

It is inexcusable that enough history isn't taught in many schools because a lot of younger people don't even know about it as a recent survery of 50 states showed.

Or don't know about so many things

in ours and world history.

My father fought in World War II (Navy), and so did my father-in-law, and my mother-in-law was a nurse.

Americans risked their lives on behalf of other nations of the world, because we were on the side of justice, and freedom, and human rights.

Yet sadly, violence and wars and oppression still continue, which lead to poverty and disaster.

No wonder everybody wants to come to the USA!

Your post reminded me of something really interesting I just saw on the news a few days ago. Apparently Civics was discontinued from the curriculum years ago. They blame this a lot on why this generation has no real understanding about lots of things. I remember being taught civics in school, as do most probably here on the board. They've realized what a huge mistake that's made and are currently in the process of putting in back into required high school curriculum.

Well today I don't think everyone wants to come to the USA. WE are no safer than many other countries and many have travel warnings for coming to the US. Sad but true. We aren't exempt.

I looked at subjects taught here. WW1 and WW2 are taught in schools here. I can easily look at our schools curriculum on line.
