I saw this photo and thought it was fake. A male tiger can be larger than this. They are the largest of the big cats.

@SilleeMee I do not know the guy's height. (I bet you were calling the tiger a guy. LOL) A quick search online says a male tiger could average 9 feet, but Siberian tigers are larger.

Working in a zoo has to be a wonderful experience. I am in awe of baby gorillas.

If anyone has photos showing animal sizes in relation to a known item, please post here. Most seem larger than I realize.

See the spots behind the ears? Only big cats have spots behind their ears. They don't know why they have spots on the backs of the ears but one theory says it's for hunting purposes where the cats all face the same direction, at their prey, and that the spots make them visible to orient themselves in a field of tall grass. No domestic cat has ever been seen with spots on the backs of their ears.

I noticed the bottle after I posted the photo. I would imagine this may be a man who helped raise the tiger by bottle feeding it. That would explain having the courage to be in his position.

I have read that tigers are the largest of the big cat family. Looking at this photo, I agree! What a magnificent animal, so beautiful. As an animal advocate, I appreciate you sharing this photo.

Now how bout them elephants!

This photo did generate some disapproval- at a game park in zimbabwe this 4 year old boy walked up to the elephant to say hi as his father was taking photos.

The park did say the elephants are very used to having children and visitors of all sizes around.

Still, I wouldn't even though they are friendly.

@goldensrbest that is something I knew but wasn't thinking about it when viewing the pic. I never understood why the animal has to give up his life for the stupidity of a human ....should nit ever be the result . Now with this pic he may know the tiger very well, still that's why they are referred to as Wild Animals because they are unpredictable and shouldn't be pets or friends with any human really .
