what I am noticing

Because viewers can access "Live stream" free on YouTube, shopping channels may be going from "Live viewing on television" to offering programming thru websites (.net) and YouTube.

Do you think this would be a viable plan? Especially if shopping channels could offer reduced pricing?

I wonder?

What Americans seem to gravitate to in their buying habits is often convenience. I wonder if this method of selling would adapt better/worse to the American lifestyle ?

Xfinity/Comcast & other cable companies which are a huge monopolies have cancelled their contract . They are in negotiations which means the cable companies want lots more money. They have settled in some areas is my understanding. You can get ShopHQ through Roku and your computer.

Speaking just for myself, all the shopping channels have been on YouTube for many years. It's not new. And through their apps, every one of the shopping channels is available 24/7. Watching them on tv is optional for anyone who has a computer, smart phone, tablet or smart watch. Live programming has been available on all those things for years. I think for the time being, tv viewing is still the principle method for shopping channel shoppers.

We lost SHQ on Comcast Xfinity but now they are airing it part time from 8 AM to 7 PM ET on our channel 1098

Here is what has been going thru my mind recently.

I leave the tv on (habit) and my channel is QVC. Sometimes I look up and get an idea to purchase. So mine is a "what do you call it?" Spur of the moment purchase.

This will not happen for me by viewing channels online.

I don't watch TV, so I don't have cable. If there is a show I want to see or I missed an hour of something that interests me, I watch their shows on FB. The Valerie shows are on at 1 am a lot, and I miss them, so it is convenient.

Shop HQ and HSN allow you to watch the shows from their program guide after they air.

@LTT1 We've always been able to livestream shopping channel free online. Also using apps. YouTube is just another app/site. Another way for them to reach more prospective customers.

I cut cable years ago so I do not have regular programmed TV (Well, I have access to some on my smart tv but I don't use it.) and I stream everything I am interested in.

For some reason SHQ did not air today on Comcast 1098, the screen was dark all day today, sure hope it returns.

There is a 25% off code right now today only on SHQ and there is nothing I want to buy. NOTHING! That never happens. Oh well.

@BdBettyB ShopHQ has had the coupon on for quite a while. At least two weeks. I did use though for one piece of jewelry. 14K Gold bracelets with Sapphire. It's a charm bracelet that spells out LOVE in letters. The sapphires are on the letters.

I hope they get this mess straightened out soon. Not sure how they can stay in business with major cable companies backing out. Now I have Comcast as well as others but because I don't have Comcast internet I can not watch shophq on my television at all. Thankfully I go to the shophq website and watch on my pc. It's more inconvenient but it's better than nothing
