Costco & Super Bowl tickets - WOW!

Costco has a package deal to attend the Super Bowl...tickets and accommodations for 2 people. Includes various pre-game festivities, 2 "lower level corner" tickets and 4 nights at the Westin Times Square. Does NOT include airfare to get the NY.

Cost: $16,000!

A die hard fan will pay it. For one of the recent super bowls, someone called into the Suzie Orman show about taking money out of a 401k. They wanted to blow it for a once in a lifetime experience.

That is actually a bargain compared to ticket prices I have seen for just the SB alone. Tickets for just seats are going for $30K for good level. No packages attached. I'll be happy watching from home.

Sadly, it might be the opposite. I don't know a lot of people with "LOTS and LOTS of disposable income" but if I did, I doubt they'd shop at COSTCO and they probably would want something other than "lower level corner" seats.

I can only speak for the fans I saw at the last Patriots game of the year. Most of those in the stands looked like everyday hard working people.

I have a neighbor who is a teller at a bank. He prefers to have no car and takes public transportation so he can afford Sabres and Bills season tickets!

He also lives where he does so he can take just one bus down to the Sabres games...those tickets alone cost him about $7,000 a year!

It's tough for him to get to the suburbs to the Bills - I have actually driven him and dropped him off there...the buses take about 2 hours for a trip that in a car is less than 30 minutes.

Different people have different priorities!
