I have a ton of scrapbooking supplies and I can't find a place to donate them.

I live in Queens, NY

It would have to be picked up...it's alot.

@catlover7777 I would reach out to any local day care centers, either for children or adult day care centers. Or even some schools.

Or if there are any "family" type shelters. I'm sure they've love to have any and all of your supplies for crafts for the kids to have.

Maybe post on Craigslist or Nextdoor - just be careful and don't be alone if anyone is coming to your house. What I do when I sell furniture on those sites, I bring it out to my front porch and do the transaction on the porch during the day with someone at my home with me.

@catlover7777 Oh my gosh, I had the exact same situation this year. I had a large storage for my scrapbook supplies. I had two truckloads that I had to get rid of. For years I had a large bedroom transformed into a scrapbook room. I actually sold pages on Ebay.

Anyway, we had a garage sale a couple weeks ago. I sold a bunch dirt cheap. I still had a ton left over. I'm not sure about your area but many schools in my town have what we call MakerSpace described as:

"MAKERSPACES PROVIDE HANDS-ON, CREATIVE WAYS TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO DESIGN, EXPERIMENT, BUILD AND INVENT AS THEY DEEPLY ENGAGE IN SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND TINKERING.”

They accept these kinds of donations but you have to get it there or find someone to transport the items. Good luck.

If you use Facebook, try to find a local Freecycle page to post it on. NOT Facebook Marketplace.

If not, maybe a pre-school or day care center?

I had A LOT too. Anna Griffin Cuddlebug, Xyron machine, Anna Griffin "pre-made scrapboks (just add pics), Imagine cricut die cut machine and really nice scrapbook cabinet pieces from Michaels (about 12) to hold everything. Not many want them. I finally donated to a local thrift store but it was with hesitation. They said that sort of stuff just sits there.

Nursing homes have activities that could use the supplies . My grandsons girlfriend works as an activity assistant and she was happy to get my stuff .

@catlover7777When my mother aged out of scrapbooking (arthritis), we donated all of her supplies to a local Boys & Girls Club. They took 11 bankers boxes of supplies -- paper, stickers, brads, punches, trim, adhesive...all of it.

Not sure if they would pick up, but it might be worth a call.

@catlover7777 @Middle school and high school art teachers spend a ton of their own money on supplies every year and would

probably love some materials. You could call a couple of local schools and leave a message to put in their mailboxes explaining that you'd like to gift them if they are interested. Leave and email and call back info. You could also take a photo of everything grouped together.

Does your local Humane Society or Rescue groups have thrift shops, where all of the profits go to caring for the animal's care ( regular care, food, medical treatment, neutering, etc.).?

All of ours here do.

And since they are non-profit organizations, your donation is tax deductible.

That's where all of my donations go and they are so grateful!

In my area of WV, these things are usually donated to daycare facilities, nursing homes, and after school programs. A local library, or Girl Scout troop might even be interested in the supplies.

@catlover7777 If you have a FACEBOOK account (you do not have to be an active user) put the info on MARKETPLACE to sell. You just need to be cautious when it comes to letting people look in person.

I have sold several things fairly expensive...and each person that look purchased and we did not have trouble and also I am not alone (husband in the house) and we are well secure in our home, I have no idea what your circumstances are...just be cautious.
