Where do you recycle bubble plastic mailers?

I've been putting these in the Walmart grocery bag bins. Wonder what they think about that? Also, there are combo bubble/butcher paper mailers. Totally stumped on those.

@depglass I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Ours is picked up on garbage day. One truck is for recycling and the other for garbage. This is done once a week on Mondays. Also if they can be reused I do, that is if no markings are on it.

Where I live we have several recycling bins in a space for residents to use. So I put my bubble mailers, clothing bags that my new orders, Styrofoam etc. It is picked up every Thursday. I've become very conscience of what I put into the regular garbage.

Our recyclers won't take anything like that. They're even picky about the types of plastic bottles they'll take. So, those go in the garbage.

@Desertdi so far they haven't said anything concerning that and we receive a few each week. Maybe once they receive them they sort through the recycle pail and remove them including the plastic bags.

Most counties have lists on their website to what can and cannot be recycled and I was amazed at all the things that cannot be recycled that most assume can be.

Things like stryofoam, plastic take out food containers, only certain kinds of plastic bottles, and many more cannot be recycled.

as a reseller I use them for mailing and packing. people save them for me

Not sure they are recyclable unless you tear the guts out of them---I saved a bunch in different sizes and used them to pack up my pictures and flat wall decor when I moved. Used them in between plates. Anything flat-ish fits nicely.

@depglass Only one answer to this question: Contact the company or government agency that picks up the recycle trash. Ask them! It varys too widely for any of us to give you an answer.

@depglass I'm pretty sure the combo ones cannot be recycled.

I put the plastic ones in the garbage. The only ones I think might get recycled are the paper ones. They can be treated like boxes. Whether they are is another thing.

I suspect that almost everything we "recycle" ends up in a pile of trash. When more things got "recycled" they were actually being shipped to other countries. Anyone else remember the video and photos of the trash filled barges?

Building Manager commands us tenants weekly to throw them in the "blue garbage bins". I quess they cannot be shredded. And now they are informing us that potato chip bags and so on cannot be recycled and should be thrown into those dang "blue garbage bins".

Recycling in our area doesn't accept any soft plastic, either. So, all that has to go in the garbage. I hate that Amazon has started using plastic bags sometimes instead of cardboard boxes. However, I don't know how much energy/tree death is needed to make a cardboard box, so I don't know which is worse, deforestation/water usage or unrecyclable plastic waste.

i try to reuse them if possible for mailing.

our county does not recycle them curbside.

plastic bags they will take at the local grocery stores.

if i am not reusing them, then they go in the regular garbage.
