Philly Doctors Win Nobel Prize

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the two University of Pennsylvania medical researchers, Dr. Kariko, and Dr. Weissman, who were just announced as winners of the Nobel Prize in medicine.

These researchers spent decades studying mRNA, and figured out how to use it to create vaccines for many types of illnesses, including Covid.

Bravo to these brilliant and relentless medical researchers, and it is so great to see Philadelphia discoveries are recognized around the world!

I am always amazed at scientists and what kind of brilliant brains some have to discover so many things.

Congratulations to them! They said Dr Fauci was behind them all the way. He didn't know if their approach would work but thought it was worthwhile investigating.

@PABoater Philadelphia is a great city, and the University of Pennsylvania is an awesome ivy league school originally founded by Benjamin Franklin.
