My New York Times recap this morning had a story on an influencer who travels the country dining on gravestones. It isn't clear whether she makes that person's exact recipe. I've never heard of recipes on gravestones so I pose this question: Which of your tried and true recipes would you want to be remembered for? Do a search under Grave-tok or Death-tok.

🍝 My Mom's cousin was a fabulous Italian cook and baker, and her house was filled every Sunday and Holiday with family and friends. When she passed away, her kids had a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, along with a fork and spoon, engraved on her tombstone, and it has brought smiles and happy memories to so many of us.

At the BF's father's funeral, so many people mentioned his blueberry muffin recipe that the minister brought it up. Sort of wish it could have been printed and passed out.

My preacher has mentioned one particular lady's pimento cheese a few times, so I guess that would have to be hers. Mine would be Baklava. I had someone offer to pay me for it once. I'm probably more known for my chili though. I haven't made the Baklava in years.

I remember a story about a woman who wouldn't give her sugar cookie recipe out. She said "over my dead body". So her kids engraved the recipe on her head stone.

I haven't seen any recipes on gravestones. I guess it's just another way to memorialize something special about a loved one. I haven't heard of people traveling & using the recipes for dining either.

I have my mom's cookie recipes. She gave them to me when she got too old to bake anymore. She passed away in 2012. Everyone loved her homemade cookies, and she shared them with family, friends, and even my teachers when I was a child. I am continuing her tradition by making & sharing her cookies with others.

Never heard of this in real life. A close friend, whose mother was a fabulous cook, had a much sought after recipe for a signature dish and she added it as an insert in the program passed out at her funeral.
