Slowly Starting and Transitioning to Some Fall Decorating. Anyone else?

I'm very slowly starting to transition from summer to fall decor. Here in NJ, though the weather says summer, there seems to be a hint of fall in the air as the temps and humidity have lowered, especially at night

While in BJs the other day, I bought a fall Apple Cider Yankee candle scent and bought a few new fall faux fall flowers and fall picks at Hobby Lobby to decorate my fireplace mantle to add to the existing fall decor I already have for there. I also bought a really cute stained glass Owl suncatcher on Amazon in fall colors for my kitchen window. (Winter I have a stained glass cardinal suncatcher, Spring/summer I have a butterfly/flowers stained glass suncatcher.)

I love fall and all that comes with it!

Not at ALL ready for fall, but for the first time this morning I admitted defeat and turned a light so I could fill the coffee pot 😢 where did the time go?

I like Fall as well though it's early for me to do any decorating. I want to enjoy Summer for as long as it lasts.

No, not me. Not yet. It is too soon. I love summer and will enjoy it until the very end. We haven't even gone on our summer beach vacation yet.

The first day of fall is September 23. It will get here soon enough.

I do love fall, though, but hate to think about what's coming next.

@ciao_bella I'm going to take down all my summer decor next week and decorate for Fall on Labor Day weekend. I can't wait. I bought a very pretty bow to top the lantern next to my front door, and I'll see what else I need when I put out everything else. As I recall, I don't need anything; but, that doesn't mean I won't get anything. Nights have been in the 50's and low 60's for the past few days, and I'm definitely getting a Fall vibe.

I'm right there with you @ciao_bella !! I have been doing early fall cleaning and changing out my decor too! I'm actually just about done and feeling very happy about it.

I started a bit earlier this year as we are traveling in September and won't be home until mid October. I did not want to have to face it all when I come back. I hear you regarding a little change in the weather, right now it's breezy and 75 degrees in RI and I'm loving it. Woke up to 55 degrees, and I just noticed a day or two ago some leaves starting to turn....

bring it on!

I just exchanged the outdoor seashell theme items (flag, doormat, door wreath) for sunflower ones. I change items in the living room bay window with the seasons, too. I put out a large vase with big ,yellow, orange, and red sunflower, a filigree owl with fairy lights, brown votives from Valerie purchased a few years ago, and her recent mercury glass sunflowers which sold out quickly. These will stay out until the end of September and then I'll put pumpkins and fall leaves until the day after Thanksgiving. Fall is my favorite season.

Nope. Not yet. It's just mid August and here in New England, it's still summer. Summers are short enough as it is without jumping the gun. I move into Fall decorating in early to mid October and it stays Fall until Thanksgiving weekend. When Christmas goes up.

You must be up early! I'm up at 6 but the sun's up then! Still don't need to turn on lights.

I'm with you, but I'm never ready for it. My favorite time of year is April-Sept...spring, summer. The holidays, the events that come this time of year, the bdays, the vacations, even the heat, the light, the farm stands, the beach, the everything of it all...it's just my time of year.

Not that Oct. isn't pretty 'round here (CT), but no matter how I try to spin that in my head, and even though I do enjoy some early fall things...I know what's coming and it's just not my time of year. I can't fight the "down" feeling I get. So I'm just trying to plan some fun things all through those months this year to offset it. Maybe some travel.

So, as I say, ad nauseum here every year when this topic starts...I just continue doing summer until it's really over, Sept 23rd...really, I go to the end of Sept. Then it really starts to feel like fall here, and I give in. Enjoy what's left. 😎

@ciao_bella I also love fall and am anxious to get out my decorations after Labor Day. I honestly don't think I need to purchase anything but love to look and probably will find a few things I can't resist. I also love fall candles but because of my cat I only do unscented or the battery operated ones.

As far as I'm concerned summer can go away and never return after the miserable July with temps over 110 for 30 days straight. I'm ready for cooler weather and being able to go outside and enjoy the weather.

It's still VERY hot and humid where I live but last week I decided to put away my summer decor and get out my fall decor. I love it! I will not put up anything outside until early to mid September - my neighbors would wonder about me! I add some Halloween decor in early to mid October.

Here in coastal GA (Savannah) we're still wearing short sleeves at Christmas, LOL!

But seriously, it's not unusual for us to be 80 degrees at Christmas.

I'm ready for fall, to escape the heat and humidity!

@JCath Sunflowers are great for the end of Summer and into Fall. My DD loves them, and I'm starting to incorporate them into my decorating as well.

@simplyfriends On behalf of your cat I thank you for the unscented candles and I'm sure that wonderful cat thanks you too. I'm sure you will find some decor you just can't resist. I like to see Fall decor, but I only decorate seasonally for Christmas at which time I go overboard.

Fall is my favorite time of the year and my Fall decorating is done outside with Fall mums, asters, autumn clematis and Fall flower pots filled with fall colors. And of course the wreaths on my doors that I change seasonally.

I do my Fall decorating on myself; wearing my favorites - Clothes in fall colors.

We are having the hottest summer since 1980. The lows are in the 80's at night and when we wake up it is usually in the 90's. Still triple digits at 9pm. No way can I get in the mood to put out my fall decor. Rumor has it we may only have highs of 101 next Mon- Tues. then way back up. Maybe the " cooler " days will push me to pull out my harvest decor. Would love to start burning some of my many fall- scented candles...but right now, the flame puts out too much heat. Every little bit to keep cooler works right now. Can't wait for a cool morning.
