The billionaire is donating 100 million to help out in Maui. She's lovely and he is fortunate to have such a lovely gal on his arm.

Perhaps their generosity will encourage other wealthy folks to help out.

Can't remember where I saw it today but Oprah has a home on Maui and she is donating also. Can't remember if the article said how much but she is a generous person so I'm sure it's a good amount.

Not a fan of Jeff or his fiance, who he cheated on his wife with during their marriage. But it is nice to read that he is finally being philanthropic with some of his tremendous fortune.

That's great.

However, I don't mean to sound cynical, but do these wealthy people really have a choice? No, they HAVE to donate ... for two reasons.

First, public image. Terrible optics if the rich people just ignored the problem.

Secondly ... and probably even more important .... if Hawaii doesn't get massive help, their property values will plummet! How does it look to have gorgeous huge properties, and the folks on the other side of the island are left with a war zone?

Oprah Winfrey hands out supplies after Hawaii wildfires.

Oprah Winfrey was filmed handing out supplies at the War Memorial Stadium in Maui, which has been turned into an evacuation center amid the devastating wildfires on the island.

“It’s a little overwhelming, you know,” Winfrey told the BBC at the stadium, before taking a long pause, appearing to be lost for words. “But I’m really so pleased to have so many people, you know, supporting, and people are just bringing what they can and doing what they can.”

The philanthropist, who is a part-time resident of Maui, continued, “I came earlier, just to see what people needed, and then went shopping because often you make donations of clothes or whatever, and it's not really what people need. So I actually went to Walmart and Costco and got pillows, shampoo, diapers, sheets, pillowcases.”

Winfrey was filmed unpacking pillows and placing them on residents’ makeshift beds in the evacuation center. She also posed with a number of residents for a picture that was shared on social media.

"Oprah went to a local shelter to ask first-hand what was most needed," a spokesperson for Oprah later shared with PEOPLE.

"She then went to Walmart and Costco to shop for the items and brought them back. It is heart-breaking devastation. She will do more, as it becomes clear which funds can be the most helpful for the short-term and long-term rebuilding."

According to local media outlet Hawaii News Now, Winfrey has been on Maui part-time for over 15 years and owns more than 2,000 acres on the island.

@Linmo You're entitled to an opinion, but you need to be aware of the facts before you publish them. I have no knowlege about his fiance, but there's plenty of into about both Bezoses regarding their philanthropic donations.

If I had the money some do I could afford to be more generous and I would love that.

It is harder to be generous when you have limited funds. They should help.

His fiancé like most have been nipped and tucked. I just don't get that.

What's to get? She works in an industry that kicks aging women to the curb. Think of cosmetic surgery as simply part of a required uniform.

Sanchez has an interesting resume. There's a lot more to her than just her face.

I also had an Oprah eyeglass moment about 8 years ago.

I was on vacation and saw a no-name optical shop that seemed unusually busy. They had a huge selection of deeply discounted expensive closeout frames. I've never seen another place like that.

I got prescription sunglasses and soon after saw them on Oprah. What a kick!

@millieshops I am aware of the facts. Forbes estimates that Bezos was worth 122 billion at the end of last year and that he's donated 2.4 billion to charity over the past 10 years. His ex-wife Mackenzie on the other hand has donated more than 14 billion to charity just since their divorce in 2019.

He actually gives a lot of his fortune to various causes and charitable organizations. He just doesnt brag about it publicly.

@Linmo Ms. Sanchez is the daughter of an aircraft mechanic. She has a pilot's license to fly helicopters and light aircraft.

I personally don't care whether Bezo's cheated with her and with others - that's his business and not mine and I won't ding him for that. Many, many, females with throw themselves into the way of the rich and wealthy men so that they can become the mistress or girlfriend. It's a story as old as time. Many women have been homewreckers just for some guys money and position.
