Jamie Foxx and Madonna

There is an interesting combo! Why did I put their names together?

Because both have had recent, serious, health issues. Madonna has had a mysterious "bacterial infection" and Foxx has been all over in articles about how he's made it through something serious and awful. He had his family giving updates.

I have no real interest in news pertaining to these two. I don't even know what Jamie Foxx does. But there are stories all over various internet sites mentioning them and their medical issue. But it's never included as to WHAT serious situation they faced. Although I don't feel any right to know, I find it annoying to keep reading about it with no information.

Since I'm a nurse, I speculated on Madonna. What gets someone in ICU for a "bacterial infection? I guess pneumonia is one guess, and another is a urinary tract infection that progresses to sepsis. I have heard others speculate on Jamie Foxx.

No, they don't owe us. But keep the story private if you are going to keep the details private!

It just goes to show no matter how rich or famous you are, if you don't take care of yourself, you will have issues!!

The press doesn’t keep stories, private and, despite HIPAA, when a celebrity is in the hospital, word leaks out. I think Madonna also had to cancel some tour dates? Jamie Foxx has always been quite private with his personal life.

I did hear part of an interview with Jamie Foxx recently. He said he was paralyzed on his right side and didn't want his fans to see him like that. Now this part I might not have gotten right, he referenced having lost so much weight and being hooked up to monitors. That was all I heard.

@hyacinth003 @Hello hyacinth. Madonna has recently undergone many all over her body plastic surgeries including some breast work. The breast work looked like it was oddly pulling with the implants oddly placed. It also looks like she's had implants and bone work on her face. Something could have opened up with one of the surgical areas leading to the infection she had. Just my opinion, with Madonna's personality, if it was pneumonia, she might have let her press agent release that, but if it was from her surgeries she might have wanted to keep that to herself.

@kze I just read quotes from him saying he is not paralyzed. He said he didn't want his fans to see him with tubes and medical equipment such as monitors. He did admit to going to a physical rehab center, so maybe his idea of what paralyzed is is different from others. He might not have any noticeable paralysis now.

There's no way for celebrities to keep that private. People who know sell the information to tabloids and tabloid web sites. Including medical people who work in hospitals, they do that.

My late Mom once worked in a hospital where Michael J Fox had surgery. Someone who worked there was caught accessing his information when they had no right to do that, they were fired.

When I first saw the topic title, I thought perhaps Madonna and Jamie had become the New-Odd Couple.

I meant "was" as in had been paralyzed in the beginning. They were interviewing him on video and the only difference I could see was that he was slimmer.

The bits and pieces of info I see in headlines about Jamie Fox's health issue made me think he had suffered a stroke. It could have been a minor one with temporary paralysis on one side. As far as Madonna, a bacterial infection could be just about anything. I do know canceling her tour and Fox not being able to host his new show means both of them had serious problems. It seems they are both on their way to recovery now so that's good. I wish them both many more years being able to continue their careers.

Neither Fox or Madonna are spring chickens...having any hint of frailties or illness some associate with age would not be something they would want publicized. Madonna needs to end the plastic surgeries...whether it caused her infection or not.

The original poster stated and I agree if you don’t want people to know your medical circumstances in the case of celebrities then their children or publicists should not say anything at all. In the case of Jamie Foxx his children were giving updates on something we had no clue about nor did they want us to know.
