Question about Walmart Plus and grocery delivery charges

If you have Walmart plus and order grocery delivery do they charge a service fee or delivery fee or any fees other than optional tip and taxes? Do you have to have a minimum grocery order?

My Publix Instacart delivery has a service fee and a delivery fee. The service fee can go up sharply if you order milk, water, Almond milk or anything they consider slightly heavy. Even if you don't buy anything heavy, there is always a service fee.

@Mindy D. Walmart charges no delivery or service fee for Walmart Plus members, just a tip for the driver. There's no minimum order amount. You pick a time when you want the groceries delivered.

Don't they hav3 a 30-day free trial?

@Kachina624 @I've ordered from them before but not with Walmart plus. The main drawback for me, with their grocery items, is that their produce is not very good, but they do carry some foods I like. They are the only place where I can get Amy's Family Size Enchiladas and I love them.

I still order paper towels, toilet paper and other items from them and they don't have an extra charge if I order at least $35.

Are the delivery prices with Walmart Pkus groceries the same as the in store prices? I don't remember if they were when I was ordering groceries from them.

@Mindy D @Kachina624 I still have a $35 minimum for delivery with Walmart+.

This summer the produce has been fine, except for one head of iceberg lettuce that was the size of a baseball.

@PickyPicky3. You're right, there does seem to be an order minimum on groceries. I don't think they charged me one on a recent smaller delivery order, however, I placed it along with a $60. shipped order.

Yes you are right. Because you placed a $60 order, regardless of whether part was delivery, or if it was part pickup/shipped order....if the total was over $35, you will not be charged a fee.

I have Walmart delivery its a little under $14 a month we have a $35 dollar min or you pay an additional amount for that delivery .. they do ask you to put an amt for a tip but I give the tip to the person doing the delivery and they appreciate it very much. They show you openings for the times available for you or you can pay and extra $10 for I think like a two-hour delivery .. I have had some problems with them messing up my order but they will work with you and give you a credit .. I like mine

We went from Whole Foods produce to Walmart produce--organic. Actually we have not been that displeased and if something is not up to par, they refund promptly and we've had no problem with that.

There's been a bit of a learning curve for me with delivery.

For example, if the outside temperature is over 90, better that I order from the closest store rather than the store that carries all my regular items. Walmart here does not require drivers to use coolers for refrigerated foods. If the driver has a sedan and puts the bags in the trunk, it's too warm. Even some SUVs don't have enough AC in the back.

If I choose to tip a percentage of the order cost and items are unavailable, the tip stays at the original amount unless changed. Order total cost is less important to my tipping decision than distance from the store and time of day due to rush hour traffic.

A couple of times the same fulltime Walmart employee has picked and delivered my order. Walmart employees can stay in touch with you while picking through the app. Walmart regulations state fulltime employees don't accept tips, yet the tip stayed on my charge. No big deal, but if it continues I'll probably ask about it.

****Walmart has been advertising on TV in Philly that they're using Instacart but not upcharging instore prices. Perhaps they're having Walmart employees test out the system.

Whatever store us picking your order, that's where your p rice point comes from.
With WM Plus, orders over 35.00 have no delivery fee. You simply your state and local municipal taxes for items purchased. I'm in Illinois, so there are different local taxes for i.e. water, pop, liquor, food, etc..

@PickyPicky3. GrubHub delivers for Walmart in my area. I'm only about 5 min from the store, less than 1 mile, so warming is not a problem, plus I ask for morning deliveries while it's still cool.

What a relief it's been not to have to go out in the heat and schlepp bags of groceries!

So in other words, who got the tip? Somebody got it if it's still on your charge. Me personally, I would have requested to have the tip refunded/credited back into my account if the right person did not get the tip.

@Mindy D I've bought all of your shopping list items and they're fine. But it all depends if your order picker is paying attention to what she's picking.

As for hummus, Marketside uses less tahini or adds some canola oil. I prefer to pay more for a traditional tahini hummus.

I had a problem with Fresh Cravings in that the ingredients on the product label did not match the ingredients on the website. I called FC and requested an explanation and no one called me back.

Here Walmart hires drivers from the Spark Driver App. The drivers want a good tip or you will find your groceries not getting there on time or delivered at all.

Online it states these drivers don't know what their tip is until delivered. I was told they do know how much the tip is. They pick the delivery with the largest tip.

If you order with morning delivery & someone else is paying larger tip you don't get your groceries on time. That's what happened to me & why I canceled Walmart+. I'm not interested in paying a large tip when groceries are expensive enough. $20 IMO for my order of under $200 should have been enough. Walmart is only about a mile from us.

Walmart should hire their own employees to deliver your groceries. You have no idea who is coming to your door???
