Walmart Bounty

Today my third order of groceries was delivered. I placed an order for a watermelon, a bunch of bananas and romaine.

I got about 8 bags of somebody else's order plus a lot of dairy. I tried to call the delivery person to advise her to come back and get it. She didn't answer, no voicemail. I called WM CS and did online chat. Got this message....

The price of groceries just went down but where do I put all of this stuff?

And I'm thinking that someone out there who ordered 8 bags of groceries is going to be really unhappy with a watermelon, bananas, and romaine.

Almost impossible to track down a order,that did not get deliverd,this happened to me a few weeks ago.

You could donate to a food bank if you don't think you can eat it all. That is a windfall though!

WOW. Perhaps you can call that store, speak to the actual store manager and ask him/her what the procedure is.

They will probably tell you to keep the packages, but having a person's name and time of call might be necessary in the future. (What if this charge later shows up on your credit card?)

If you don't want or can't use the groceries, perhaps you could call a church and see if they have a family that would be happy and thankful to receive such a gift.

@Kachina624 I would first call the store directly. If that doesn't help I'm sure in your area there is a food bank or shelter that would be grateful for this bounty. Seems like an easy solution and would benefit those in need.

You wouldn't know what to do with my groceries if you receive them. I buy $300-$500 at a time?

Enjoy them. Donate what you cannot use to family, friends, food bank etc.

Amazon has the same policy if their driver makes an error with a delivery. They allow you to keep the food or donare it. They also refund your money.

@Love my grandkids. Several things I can't use. Will offer to the neighbors when they get home from work. It was mostly salad fixin's.

@Kachina624 Peppers, onions, tomatos, carrots, cabbage, etc.? Make a big pot of soup and freeze some. Make lettuce bread (it's good--sort of like zucchini bread!).

That's why I don't have my WM deliver my groceries. I'd rather do curbside-pickup and that way I can see what they load into my car. Even then, I have received someone else's order but stopped them from loading it. Only once that has happened and I did get my order take care of that day.

I'm sad this happened to you.

I know, each time I order groceries. from Amz, I'm waiting, with bated breath, to see if the ones I order are indeed the ones I select, esp since I order only Sugar Free & Veggies. So far, so good. Use a lot of Fridge room. *crossed fingers* But I'd be disappointed also.

As an aside, Wow. You eat super healthy, and fresh! I'm impressed!

Hope it's resolved comfortably & rapidly.

Disappointed, I know. Just waiting for my time also

Calling the local store is no help as the delivery could be a second carrier. They won't pick up the wrong order from you since you have already brought it inside and "contaminated" it. Just saying..........

@Hoovermom. Yes, our local WM contracts with GrubHub. I left it outside an hour or so hoping she'd come back but she didn't.

@Sooner. Got 3 heads of iceberg lettuce. I only use romaine. Somebody was going to make a heck of a salad.

@SilleeMee. So far WM has worked out well for me except for the hour I wasted trying to contact people.

We live on a xyz COURT, 4 houses from us is xyz DRIVE.

I can't TELL you what gets reverse delivered. Their dogs bark like crazy, their driveway is straight up and blind getting out, and for a while we were getting all of her prescriptions.

THIS is what I tried to share about Walmart. IT'S ALL about the drivers in delivering.

It can be such a screw up and with Walmart there's no fix or accountability.

Maybe they were going to make tacos? I always use iceberg for tacos? Who knows!
