Another day, new heat.
7:30 am and 87 % humidity and a call for 100 degrees straight up.
Central Illinois and it's version of the jungle lol.

@katie1859 How do people manage this heat without air conditioning?I can manage bitter cold,but not extreme heat.

In New Jersey we are having the same heat wave also. They say next week it will be in the 80's, I hope they are right!

Very hot and humid through Saturday. Then there will be a break.. Strong storms never materialized yesterday. Didn't get a drop. Most storms missed us. Same forecast today. A tiny tad cooler. It'll be 96F

Hot in central PA. again today and yet again tomorrow. Looks to be a cool down starting Sun. in the 80's and possibly high 70's mid week.

Much of the same here in metro DC. However, next week is supposed to provide us with below normal temps!!!!!!!! Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just calling it Summer. We had the most beautiful fiery orange sunset last evening. I can't recall when we had such a beautiful sunset. A bunch of went for a walk around the neighborhood until the sun went down. Yesterday they were predicting a heat wave. Several days close to 100. Today they are saying high 80s today and tomorrow and low 80s to high 70s after that. Big difference in just 12 hours.

I just checked our ten day forecast and today at 100 is the coolest. After today calling 103 and 104. Cannot imagine what the heat index will be if that is the temp.

For folks on the East Coast, The break with storms is tomorrow. Sunday is the day for low humidity. I think in the MidWest, they will break today or tomorrow.

Sorry folks, for your hellish heat--

Here in western WA we are in the mid-upper 70's today and thru the weekend. It's been a great summer with just a few days temps at/near 80/90*. Had a spot of rain Monday and Tuesday that was wonderful. The ocean brings in the clouds over night and keeps us cool. Can't imagine weeks of unbearable heat------

baltimore area will probably hit 100 today and with the humidity they are saying it will feel like 110! did i mention that SUMMER is my least favorite season?

Those of us who live in the Sacramento area are used to high temperatures. We have air conditioning in our homes and cars and do our outdoors things in the early morning hours. We did recently have higher temps at 100-107 degrees. The 10 day forecast is all highs in the 90s. But it's a dry heat.

New England area is very hot and humid today, our hottest day so far I believe. Thankfully it doesn't usually last too long. Sunday the humidity will be down and so will the temps! Yay! Bring on the 70's please.........I'll be excited to open some windows again

We did have a wicked thunderstorm move through RI last night. Lightening hit a tree in my daughters back yard and a transformer at the same time. They were without power for most of the night. Thank God, it's back on and no damage to the house at all. Amen.

Sadly, people die from this. A heat wave hit Illinois back in the 1990's and a family member of my ex's had an apartment without AC. She died from heat stroke. Relatives had offered their homes that had AC, but she refused.

We've had an unrelenting 6 weeks under the heat dome but without the humidity and poor Arizona has been even worse. We havent had a drop of rain officially since May 21st, although its been a heck of a lot longer in my neighborhood.

It appears to be slowly moving East, and we're predicted to chill down to the mid-90s next week. This summer has been brutal. Hottest average daily temp ever at 86.5°, most days 100° or more in July.

In northeast SC it's 91 now and feels like 98 with the humidity. It's supposed to actually get 95 today so you can imagine how it feels. Going to be this way for another week at least. The humidity is just so exhausting and hits you like a wet blanket when you step outside.
