@catlover7777 - I have never shopped there, and had never even heard of them, but on a Facebook group I am in, someone asked this same question and some people that responded said they wouldn't buy from them because of their work practices.

So, I just googled Temu working conditions when I opened this post. You might want to do that.

We've discussed TEMU before. It's based in China and is like an online dollar store. I wouldn't trust them.

TrustPilot dot com is a good place to read what their customers have to say about TEMU. It doesn't look that good.

I have also been leery of shopping there. But, after seeing some items from there--- I broke down and ordered a few things. Will have to admit, I LOVED all I ordered. I ordered a dress---it was a litle brighter and flashier than the pic----I ordered 2 rings---need to size up for those. It took 8 days to receive. It is kind of addicting---after ordering, the next day I received an email saying one of the items in my check out that I didn't purchase was on sale just for me for $2.08---now who can resist that! So, with no shipping --- I caved in. I understand the manufacturing practice -- Yes, that bothers me---

I'm not going to support China anymore than we already do by ordering from Temu. I will never buy from Temu.

Have you been there and seen their working conditions........I have. Horrible!

I bought 3 things just as an experiment. My daughter raves about them. I bought a set of 3 little cosmetic pouches to go in my small crossbody bags. 💕 Them. I bought two soft sided organizer bags with handles and clear windows to hold off season shoes and boots. 💕 💕. The items were well made, exactly as advertised and extraordinarily inexpensive. I do play around on the app, there are thousands of cute and functional things at crazy low prices. I haven't ordered anything since but I'm sure I will. Fall and Halloween decorations probably. I paid with a the debit card that I use for online shopping. It's not connected to any bank accounts. I load money on it so it's a safe way to shop online.

I've done a bunch of googling and reading this morning. Not saying at all that every single place we all order from is squeaky ethical top to bottom because we don't know, but I think I can make better choices than Temu.

Our country isn't exempt from poor working conditions.

Those in China need the job or wouldn't be enduring the conditions. Boycotting Temu won't improve the conditions, just put people out of work.

@occasionalrain - we all make our choices on where we choose to shop. And I agree with your first sentence.

There was a very good thread on this subject when this Temu things first started. Someone pointed out that when you order, you are giving the Chinese government access to your personal information through your credit card. No thank you for me.

We continue to get packages from them that we have never ordered and so far there is no way to stop it.

We aren’t being billed for anything, we receive packages with other peoples’ names to our address. Junk.

Temu is garbage as far as I’m concerned.

PS We have NEVER ordered from them, yet they deliver to our address.

i said the same thing about amazon and now i am hooked on that.....and even buy things that come from china directly.

I would never shop at Temu. Giving the Chinese government access to your personal information and credit cards is foolhardy. We have enough issues in this country dealing with hacking by the Chinese without making it easier for them. Sure it is cheaper. But I would rather go without. Also, the notion that if you don't buy that those workers will just have no work at all so it it is better to give them a job with the poorest of working conditions is beyond appalling. Only a spoiled American with the excess of abundances would ever say such a thing. China uses children and will force them to work for 14 or more hours a day with barely a bathroom or food break. We treat prisoners better here.

The HS aged granddaughter contacted us a few weeks ago asking us about signing up using an invite from her so she could get a free gift.

I signed up using an obscure email account and later in the day requested to have my account deleted.

l bought from them and now l have a flood of spam emails every day. Trying everything to stop it , to no avail . l always got a few , but it's crazy now . l am sure they sold my email address . Most of the stuff l got was decent and well made A few things were junk but then only a dollar or so . Free shipping and twice l got a $5 dollar credit because the item came a day late . l still look but haven't ordered recently , still upset about all the emails !
