Thousand Island Dressing out of fashion in restaurants?

I love Thousand Island Dressing on salad. Years ago every restaurant had it as a choice on the menu. I have noticed in the last few years it seems not to be offered. Ranch and Italian and some type of vinegrette are the main ones nowadays. Maybe it is just in my area, is it rare where you live?? I buy Marie's for home use.

It had it's glory days and all of the Tv commercials fueled the desire. But that's all faded now.

I used to always get Thousand Island, too, and you're right, restaurants seem to have stopped offering it years ago.

In the Philadelphia area Thousand Island and French are still available in family restaurants. Not in upscale ones.

not in the restaurants we go to......most still offer it and it is my dressing of choice usually, along with blue cheese.

we even have a few restaurants that make their own and my favorite servers always give me a soup container full to take some home. they know i am a thousand island afficionado. lol

My favorite local pub still has if. They make their own. The other restaurants we go to don't have thousand island dressing.They haven't in years.

Live in Illinois and thousand island dressing is offered everywhere here. French dressing is harder to find.

I agree, you don't see it so much anymore. I used to use only Thousand Island, but now I prefer Blue Cheese. I use Thousand Island in my Deviled eggs though, so it's in the fridge.

As someone else mentioned, you never see French anymore and what about Green Goddess or Russian? I've never actually had any of those so can't say I miss them.

I haven't noticed Thousand Island being offered in most restaurants in years. I normally buy Ranch or some version of Italian at grocery stores so I don't even know if you can still buy it there.

Wow! Here in Southeastern Wisconsin we can still get French Dressing in restaurants, but hardly ever do I hear them offer thousand Island......

We have been in two really nice restaurants recently that now have Thousand Island dressing listed. We couldn't find it for years...seems it may be returning. Can't find French dressing anywhere.

I still see it in Arizona but honey mustard and ranch seem to be the norm.
