90 Day Fiance anyone????

Did anyone watch this show last night and if so, what did you think of it.

I feel sorry for the girl from Colombia. I don't think she has a chance with the parents from Oklahoma. They need their own place ASAP. Those arrangements should have already been made before she came to this country.

As for the Mormon guy and g/f? I don't get this at all.

The older guy and the 20 y/o Russian girl = that won't last. They just don't look comfortable with each other.

I haven't watched this show. I don't think 90 days is long enough to know someone and know enough to want to marry them. At 90 days you still think everything they do is cute or funny. Trust me, it ends up nothing always being cute or funny...

I think if the sole purpose of someone coming here is to immediately get married, that should raise some eyebrows.

Long time ago, I was cruising dating websites, (never had the nerve to actually put an ad out there) because I was bored. I came across one for dating Irish/Scots, and one ad that I clicked on said, "You want a husband, and I want a green card. Let's get together."

Hey, at least the guy was honest.

And no, I didn't respond to that ad or any other.

Don't they know the foreign women would do anything and SAY anything to get into this country, stay, and take all their money and pensions? When an American applies and is approved for a fiance visa they have 90 days to marry once she enters the country.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a "fiance visa".... Is this something new???

I don't think any of these relationships????? will last but it will be interesting to see how they play out. LOL Already, his mother has told her she has to learn how to bake some pie that has been a family tradition for years and years. Oh yeah.........

They still have to apply for permanent residency once they are married and also can qualify for citizenship after they have been married for 5 years to an American.....the fiance visa process involves applications on his part - and she would then have to go to the immigration office in her country for an interview and also there are medical tests, vacinations, etc. and fingerprinting for background checks that need to be done before the approval of the visa takes place on th eAmerican side.....the process to get a fiance visa is not short - it can take as long as 1-2 years to get the visa approval.....I'm bothered by the fact this show is making it look like they just jumped on a plane and came to America when in fact there is much more to getting a fiance visa than just having 90 days to marry.

A fiance visa is not new. Think of when WW II was over and soldiers wanted to bring a European bride home after the war.

If you marry an American in the time allowed then you can apply for a Conditional Green Card good for 3 yrs. Manage to stay married 3 yrs then you can move to Permanent Resident and then file for divorce after your Permanent Resident status is approved. Done all the time.

Immigration has an interview process to make sure it's not a sham. Couples are interviewed in separate rooms and asked questions like ""where did you meet""? ""Where did you honeymoon""? ""What was his wedding gift to you""?

Be surprised how many folks can't answer.

I taped it and watched it this a.m. Usually I turn reality shows off, but this intrigued me. I agree w/ the OP about the gal from Colombia. I actually thought that the guys' mom was pretty rude to her. Asking her if she planned to stay in the high heels all day. Trying to shame her, IMO. The Russian gal and older guy looked extremely uncomfortable together. The Mormon guy is going to have trouble w/ jealousy. His gal is a doll and he is already worried about other guys coming onto her. See what next week brings.

twopeas: ITA. And I've long thought that many Mormon young men are a bit more immature in social skills that other guys their age. Not a knock, just an observation. I predict a quick end to the little "romance" (gag).

Yeah, the mother of the guy with Paola (Colombian WOMAN, as opposed to the girls the others are with) seems like a real genuine b i * t * c * h. Just the look on her face told the whole story in my opinion. I agree, Paola should run and never look back. I actually like her. She's an adult and won't tolerate bee ess.

I'm guessing the girls believe that they don't have much to lose and everything to gain. The men (well, many of them) don't seem to care about the obvious motives. Well, it's rather 'old fashioned', in a way. You know, marriages that were 'set up' by parents/relatives, etc. in the olden days.
