I get prescription glasses so infrequently because they are so expensive. I would like to get two new pairs of glasses, regular and sunglasses (prescription). I know you can try five pairs for free and send them back. I would like to know if anyone has gotten glasses from them and were you happy? Also the glasses start at $95 with prescription, are there a lot of add ons to bring the cost up? Also if you don't like any of the five frames you were sent, will they send you five more for free?

I bought three pairs of glasses from Warby Parker. I went into the store though. They do give you five to try for free, but the selection is limited as compared to the frames they have in the store. The five that I had sent to the house to try it for free, just didn't look right, and we're not my style. I decided to go to the store in the mall to comparison shop. I purchased the first pair....loved them, bought the second pair as I was waiting for the optician to fit the original pair for me. There was a short wait...so that's when I went shopping again. I also loved another pair which I had tried on and loved. Mine needed to be fit to my face by the optician, whom I really liked. The frames are very cute, modern, trendy, and very comfortable. The quality of the classes is very nice. I had spent $500-$600 previously on glasses that I didn't like half as much in an over priced optical shop. So for me, I definitely recommend Warby Parker.

I have used WP for the past couple of years for eye exams and glasses. I like being able to try on 5 pairs at home--the instore experience is too confusing to me. I have always found a pair that I liked in the first 5 I received so don't know if you can get more. You pick the 5 you want to receive and the website is helpful in choosing which ones.

I wear progressive/transition glasses. The only add on was for the transition extra. They would have cost me $495 but they accept my UHC Medicare Advantage insurance and I wound up paying $200, significantly cheaper than I would have paid at Lenscrafters where I used to go.

They will adjust any problems with the glasses for free so yes, I am satisified with my experience with them.

2 people I know were happy

I thought the price was high almost as much as my local place, and I can go there for adjustments any time the WP is in a big regional mall

in other words the convenience of my local shop is worth paying for

the frames are nice

I've used Zennioptical for at least 15 years ( one-two pair per year) and love them. I wear progressives and all in ( including frames) they are $95-115. DH tends to lose glasses and these are also a godsend for him and are in our home in about 7 days.

I have been buying from ForEyes since the 1970s, both in store and now online. Although it's no longer owned by the founding family, the glasses are still made by the same lab in Miami.

They're having a 50% off sale for the July 4 holiday.

I'll be honest, I haven't tried Warby Parker, but no way could I do 5 pairs to try. Look at them online, pick 5, wait to receive them, try them on, box them back up and return them. What a pain.

When I buy new glasses, I easily try on 30 frames. It takes me awhile to pick one out.

So it is in store for me and I always just stick with my eye doctor's office.

I just had that discussion about Warby Parker with a friend. He felt they were very cheaply made as compared to other glasses he has had and purchased other places. I guess you would have to order a pair to see for yourself. If you are looking for an " extra" pair just to have in case they may be ok for you.

The time before last I ordered several frames from Zenni and ended up taking one of the frames to Costco (they accept my UHG insurance) and it only cost an extra $25 to supply your own frame - in total I paid $75 for progressive lens.

I see ads for America Best Eyeglaases that offer good deals. I have never tried them but thought I would offer you another suggestion.

We have been using Costco ever since it was Price club for contacts and glasses. They sometimes have sales which brings down the price. They also stand behind their products. The last time I bought glasses, 2 pairs, the coatings on them were not to my liking. They sent the, back and I received new ones. Those were perfect.

My aunt wears progressive glasses and she always purchases from Costco. She also says that their pricing cannot be beat.

I took my Rx to America's Best and got a pair of Prive Rivoux (,I'm sure I just spelled that wrong. but my phone screen is too small to check, ) sunglasses. Love them.

You asked about Warby Parker specifically and many told you to go elsewhere. I don't recommend Costco. My brother in law ordered glasses there and he felt they were cheap and couldn't see well with them. I guess it's trial and error. I enjoyed going into the WP store. The associates were helpful and it was a blast trying all the cool glasses on.

I've had good luck with Costco and Sams club. I also order extras from zenni optical.

Sams club glasses come with insurance also, total free replacement if you damage them within the first year.

I buy my glasses from Costco and have for years - GREAT and GREAT customer service. I ALWAYS buy DESIGNER frames. The prices can't be beat. I usually get my glasses in 3 days.

I have no experience with WP, but have used Zenni for many years and purchased several pairs of glasses from them and have been very satisifed. I wear bifocals and have had no problem. Very inexpensive, too.

I have.a store near me and I have used them for reading glasses - love them

the drug store kind just didnt seem clear to me

i dont need prescription glasses - but friends are cery happy with the product
