Costco Shoppers Heads Up on Clothing Markdowns and Other Sale Prices!!

Made a run to Costco this morning for over the counter allergy pills and while I was there, my daughter and I looked at the clothing. Lots of markdowns in price and sale prices.....you know it's a markdown if the price ends in .97.

We're going on vacation to visit friends in upstate New York. They have a house on Lake Luzerne which is one lake over from Lake George. Anyway, we bought quite a lot of clothing there today. Beautiful pj capri set is on sale for $12.99. Daughter bought one with a pretty butterfly print and me one with flowers. Then some of their pretty t-shirts that I had purchased at regular price were marked down to $6.97. I bought two color that I didn't already have. I bought 2 pairs of Jockey brand yoga capris with pockets for $9.99 each and a pair of Hillary Radley pull on ankle pants $12.97.

All of which I can use for vacation. So, check out your local Costco and get some good deals.

@ciao_bella I stopped by there yesterday on my way home from the hairdresser. I picked up 3 Tees, a Mondetta Tie Dye in teal for $9.99, a Columbia Omni-Shade in dark blue with small white dashes for $18.99, and a Kirkland Signature Peruvian Pima Cotton in Olive for $6.97.

I don't wear shorts, skorts, or capris so I didn't even look at those. I don't like my legs. But, I did pick up some Midnight by Carol Hochman 100% Cotton Hi-Leg Undies, an 8 pk for $14.99. I'm wearing a pair today and was pleasantly surprised at the fit as I've never bought Costco undies before.

I ordered a vince camuto shirt from costco online for 13.99, i also got 5 dollars off of that because I bought 5 clothing items so all were 5 dollars off, can't beat that price!

Recently I saw a tee shirt there with an embroidered bee on the chest. I was tempted.

Better-Half picked up three pairs of Hurley heavyweight sweatpants for me to wear to the Cancer Center for my treatments and they are impressive. Well-made, very heavy and they wash up great.

@Icegoddess I haven't purchased underwear at Costco but my daughter always buys the Carole Hochman panties they have at Costco, sometime they're on sale too. I think they're 6 panties in a package (brief or highcut style) and daughter got them on sale last time for $10.99 for the pack of 6. She bought 2 packages, as they had a different color assortment in the other package.

@just bee Those shirts with the embroidered bees on them are the ones that are now $6.97. I bought the bee one at regular price a month or so ago. Today, I bought the remaining ones; light pink one with embroidered little strawberries and also the black one with the pink embroidered little flamingoes on them. Very cute and comfortable.

@ciao_bella, my Kirkland Signature $6.97 top doesn't have any embroidery which I prefer. I think they only had 2 colors, olive and pink. The Midnight by Carol Hochman hi-cut cotton briefs were an 8-pk for $14.99. They might not have been on sale since there was no - x.xx after the charge. If so, then neither were any of my T's, but I'm not complaining.

Hey Costco Cardholders... I have a question. A few years ago my niece gave me her "companion" Costco card. I never used it until my neighbors assured me it was perfectly legit to use. I didn't want to be ushered out of the store.😲 I have only used the card twice but not for at least a year.

Just now I heard on the news Costco is going to start checking IDs against membership cards because of card sharing.

Do you know if two people can still share a card or is that against Costco's rules now?

@magicmoodz does the card have your name on it? If it does, it's not card sharing.

I have to go to Costco to buy Cosequin for the dog at some point this week, but I have a feeling that, at that price, the bees will be gone. Things move fast at that store.

I don't know what a companion card is, but no one is supposed to be able to use a card if their name is not on it. If Jane Doe's name is on it, her spouse is not even supposed to use it if they are not together. Of course he, or another household member, can get one in their name at no additional cost. @magicmoodz

@magicmoodz Costco allows 1 person to add to your membership at no extra cost, but they are supposed to be in the same household. Not sure how they verify that part. I have the membership and my husband has his own card with his picture on the back. They're checking to make sure the picture matches you. They could always do that in the regular checkout line because you have to give them your card although it might not have been a priority in the past. With all this inflation I guess Costco is trying to keep costs down without having to raise membership prices and so they are clamping down on the membership. When they first started Self-Checkout, membership cards were not checked.

I guess what they could do is verify the member as they walk in the door instead of just waving you in if you flash your card. That way, if you're in the store, you're a verified member and it wouldn't slow down the checkout line.
