      <description>&lt;P&gt;My daughter works at a popular apparrel store at the mall.&amp;nbsp; She will be there a year in July.&amp;nbsp; It is not a very well run store.&amp;nbsp; Nobody stays very long including managers and assistant managers.&amp;nbsp; No one my daughter started with works there anymore.&amp;nbsp; She has found out the only managers and assistant managers receive raises.&amp;nbsp; I'm wondering is this the norm?&amp;nbsp; If you have teenagers who work, do they receive a yearly raise?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Besides that, the retailer might not be pulling in a profit to afford for employees to have raises. &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="comic sans ms,sans-serif" size="4"&gt;Perhaps your daughter could contact the human resources department about a wage increase or ask her supevisor.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I would think this answer depends on the business. &amp;nbsp;Is she working part time? &amp;nbsp;If not, is she focused on a future career. &amp;nbsp;Is she interested in pursuing training or education? &amp;nbsp;If this is a temporary part time job, I wouldn't be too concerned about the raise issue. Preparation for her future work choice is primary. Kudos to her for working as a teenager and for you being a supportive mom.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

She's worked there for a few months now on weekends.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;She is heading off to college in July and wanted some money to spend for her first couple of&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;semesters.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;I was shocked to hear she makes $18 an hour starting wage&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;. &amp;nbsp;IMO, That's a lot of money for a teen to make sandwiches and pop food into a microwave oven.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;There are part time jobs out there that pay well. &amp;nbsp;It doesn't hurt to look around.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Maybe she should check in with either of the managers and ask about a one year performance review and raise consideration. &amp;nbsp;I think with a year under her belt she could go somewhere else. I don't know what she makes but she could look into Target. My daughter worked part time there and liked it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I know many similar stores are run the same way; it is a revolving door of employees and management people. The raises are minimum and am sure the younger workers don't get raises, but if she has been working there for a year in July, sounds like she deserves one for at least not leaving and showing some loyalty to the company.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
