@Mindy D My understanding of the article from History Connection is that AI was used on the drawings, paintings, or sculptures to portray them as they would look today.

Alexander the Great looks like a cute, young college student. These were all interesting adjustments and entertaining to see.

I wish they had dressed the AI versions in clothes from their eras. Of course Alex, Caesar, Henry VIII, and Napoleon don't look quite as powerful in these pictures!

When I saw William Shakespeare, I did a double take. My mom's family through her father is distantly related to him (I guess I am too!). I put my hand over the face so just the eyes showed. I saw my mom's eyes, my brother's eyes, and DS' eyes! My mom had light hazel, my brother had grey, and DS has blue-green. But the shape is the same.

We have a copy of one of Shakespeare's unpublished plays that has our family name in it.

@Mersha Like Mindy D I was confused. I did some research & found this from the person who did the AI images......

"When choosing the character, the most time-consuming thing is to find an image that resembles the historical figure. I spend hours in image databases until I get the right picture. Each individual piece takes up to 2 hours, which is nothing compared to AI-unassisted methods."

Which to me means the pics on the right are "real" people but AI tweaked.

Either way, I find it amazing & scary. Reminded me of the Terminator movie series. If you've seen them, you know what I mean.

The artist that made the pictures is Brazilian artist Hidreley Diao. He posted more on his Instagram page. There are a couple of other articles with more pictures.

Interesting, but some of the faces are really off, especially the Mona Lisa's. Goes to show AI is not all powerful.

How fun! All these people now look so ordinary and common. They lose most of their charisma.

I'd like to see Michelangelo's David as a "good ole boy".
