Swedish cloths

People have posted about them,i got some i refuse to call them dish cloths, they are small,actually tiny,i think they are not to my liking.

I don't care for them at all and I have had them given to me, included with other gifts, at least 3 times. I just don't care for them.

@goldensrbest You are not alone. I bought a couple, then was gifted over the years probably about six of them. I didn't care for them. I gave a couple away to a friend who wanted to try them ( she also didn't like them) and donated the rest.

They are made small so they don't increase waste in the garbage.They are environmentally friendly and compostable.

One of the several reasons I don't like them is they are oh so cute if you buy one with a cute pattern and it's nice and flat and then it gets wet and you wring it out and it turns into this contorted stiff thing. Yuck.

@goldensrbest What brand did you use.

Wettex are made in Sweden and the USA. I like them.

I also have Skoy brand.

They really take some getting used to and since they are biodegradable and compostable it's a good way to reduce paper towel waste.

More hygienic.

I was gifted these from a friend's daughter who creates her own designs on them and sells to gift stores. Mine are not that small. I clean them in the dishwasher.

@gidgetgh yes they can go in the washing machine but no dryer.

I do not use my dishwasher but they can go on the top rack without using the dry cycle.

The good thing is that they dry so fast bacteria cannot grow as fast as on a sponge or wet cloth towel.

I just soak mine with a little Nellie's laundry powder or sometimes Dr. Bonner's Castile liquid soap.

@Cakers3 - thanks. I DO use my dishwasher, drying cycle and all.

I don't use sponges or dishrags either. Don't own any. A friend gave me 2 Swedish cloths at Christmas last year. I tried one and then threw it away and gave the other to goodwill. Just not my thing. And I am absolutely not going to use something that requires special care. It's survival of the fittest at my house, LOL.

I have a couple of them, they're okay. Just a different type of cloth. I like the size of them and think they do a nice job on dishes. I dislike using larger dish cloths to wash dishes, some of them are bigger than a facecloth for goodness sake. The only thing that's weird to me is how stiff they get when dry.

I dry with paper towels. I don't like dish clothes. They will smell if you don't' change them. Lots to wash too. So I dropped all wash clothes or dry clothes. Just use paper towels.

I still don't use any clothes involving cleaning or washing. Just paper towels. Although I do use face clothes. I change them daily. Getting tired of washing so many extra things besides clothes.

You might like DishFish. Sponge on one side scrubby on the other side.

I happen to read about them in Good Housekeeping while at my dentist several years ago.

They will last about a month depending on usage and never smell. The scrubby side is gentle and easy to rinse.

They have been hard to find on Amazon but are made in Texas so no import from overseas.

I think production may have shut down with COVID before.

You can still see them on Amazon but I haven't looked since I still have some.

They also make an all scrubby style.

Ergonomic for your hands - shaped like a fish (duh) and stand up so no wet side, dry fast.

Do these cloths have a different texture one side vs the other side? I'm trying to place what these are.
