He's such a smart guy and seems to be spot on regarding jobs and the workforce in our country. Good to hear someone with common sense.

It was on Fox News.......I didn't want the rath of those who will throw me hate because I dare to watch Fox. He was talking about the need for blue collar workers and that you could make a great living without a 4yr. collage degree. Also, how he felt it started when they took shop classes and mechanics classes out of high schools and kids were made to feel that collage was the only way to make it in the world.

@Lvqfan I also watch Fox...and so do a number of others here! There was a thread awhile back (don't remember if it was in TV and Movies, or what---but we were discussing how much we enjoy Gutfeld! and The Five.

I'm also a big admirer of Mike Rowe and his commen sense!

Fox is a mix. It does have legitimate news, not opinions.

You don't need college but it does help with spelling!

The good news is that the unions representing the skilled trades in my area offer numerous paid apprenticeships . They recruit from both the high schools and community colleges. It's a great way to nurture local talent and future professionals.

@spumoni99 I know what you mean. I appreciate that since I am a spelling and grammar nerd! But I learned how to spell and diagram sentences in grammar school. In today's world, I don't really know what is going on anymore in schools. Getting back to Mike Rowe, I love the way he encourages young people to go to trade schools and other trainig to obtain a trade and skills. That's practically a guarantee for lifetime employment.

I like MR and some of Fox New. Love Jessie Waters and the Five. My local news doesn't even mention some of the news I hear on Fox. Course its Calif.

Mike was interviewed on Fox a while back and told how he had to sell on the Q. It was a toothbrush item. So interesting how he told about the bristles and the certain handle. He said you really have to pick something and make it sound wonderful. I was laughing and it made me really look at how they discribe and sell now. Like when they point out buttons on something or little common things and make them sound wonderful.

MR was funny about it, so I cannot discribe it the way he did.

It has to be hard for the host to sell some ordinary items and make it sound like it is something you really need.

I’m a big proponent of education but I don’t know anyone who believes that college is for everyone. For some professions, it’s an obvious requirement.

They took out shop classes as well as things like music and art in many schools when they cut the budgets. They also eliminated drivers Ed.

Jesse is my guy too, cocky as all heck ,but I find him amusing and he can laugh at himself!! My DH has a crush on Judge Janine. I cant stand Gutfeld!!

Mike Rowe is a home boy for me,and went to high school with a few of my coworkers.

I like him too. He has a lot of good things to say and I appreciate his encouragement of trade jobs which tend to get overlooked as kids are pushed to go to college as the only career path or they're doomed.

I watch Fox exclusivley and not afraid of the wrath. Yes I saw him, like him, and did you know he used to be a host on QVC. Fox is watched by more people that all the other stations combined.Lay it on me, I just don't care.
