UPS Sorting issue

So I ordered a TILI box on 3/13 as a surprise gift for my daughter. When I last checked it had been shipped on 3/15 from S. Carolina and arrived in ILL on 3/16 Great ! so I expected it to be delivered here in St. Louis by tomorrow 3/18 (5 days) Great again ! This morning I checked the shipping status and it had arrived here in St. Louis on 3/17 and was being processed at a UPS facility so I figured it would definitely be delivered to my home by 3/18. But wait ! later there was another UPS note that said sorry it had been sorted incorrectly and was sent on to Minneapolis MN !! What ?? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Very dissappointing so if anyone in Minneapolis should run across my package, please send it on to St. Louis, Thanks !

I ordered a dvd from a place in Chicago. It got to Amarillo and I thought whoopee it will be here by tomorrow or next day at very most.

Nope, they sent it back to chicago !!

@Goodie2shoes lol, You must be a novice customer. This sort of thing happens all the time. Sometimes packages tour an entire quadrant of the US. It all courtesy of a company called Newgistics, a contractor for the USPS.... but that's a whole other thread.

lucky you @Goodie2shoes ... my TSV Kim Gravel went clear across the country and delivered to someone in Arizona.

I ordered the pink quartz maxi and waited for it to move for several days from "waiting to be accepted by UPS" to then go to USPS.
No such status ever happened. Instead the not moved package was SUDDENLY shown as delivered to AZ. I live in Philly.

All I got back was my flex pay! I'm a 30+ yr shopper with Q....and now I'm disgusted and finished. Anything these hucksters yell-sell on here, I can get cheaper in retail with far less anger and frustration.

Not a QVC item, but I had a package ship via USPS from California...it came all the way across the country in 3-4 days. Then it bounced around Atlanta for a week!!!!!

It finally made it to my local PO and was scanned as Out for Delivery...checked the mail that day, no package. I did get it the following day, nearly 3 weeks after it shipped.

Shipping via any method is a crapshoot these days!

Since UPS got a new CEO they've really gone DOWN THE TUBES (she took over 6/1/20)....Nothing but problems and lies😖.....So now between USPS, UPS, and Fed Ex we have NO RELIABLE shipping/delivery companies.....I guess Amazon has cornered the market on getting merchandise to customers, maybe they should take over the whole kit and kaboodle 🤔

@Spurt Not! One of my Amazon packages was delivered to someone in Hawaii.

The lying and tracking is done by Newgistics to cover their own incompetence. We had a thread a few days ago started by @On It which was most enlightening. Seems as though the Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, has a financial interest in Newgistics. For an eye-opener, check him out on Wikipedia.

Yep your right, there's Newgistics, in Texas its called MAIL INNOVATIONS when UPS hands off to USPS for delivery, or its solely a USPS situation, but not everything goes through Newgistics/Mail Innovations..

Problems even happen when UPS or Fed Ex handle the entire operation of shipping/delivery from the start to finish.....Our Condo Mail Center says they lie so it looks like the packages are arriving quickly and on time----it takes another few days before the Mail Center actually receives the package....These packages arrive in a UPS TRUCK

Heres something interesting too---everyone complains about "junk mail".. Interesting fact, 17% of USPS's revenue comes from delivering "junk mail".....Im having problems just getting my regular mail delivered....I sent a complaint and a Manager called me back....I told her that USPS needs to stop the partnership with junk mail that no one wants, stop picking up the slack for UPS with their Mail Innovations, and quit wasting money on commercials and concentrate on their actul purpose getting REGULAR MAIL and Regular Packages delivered to people!

I don’t want to jinx myself but

I live in SoCA and I rarely have any shipping issues regardless of the carrier: USPS, UPS, FedEx. The only shipments that are slower come from the upper Midwest, around Ohio. They sit in the hub several days before moving. Even then, it’s fast once it hits CA.

I occasionally get something DHL (rare) and they are slow. No package misdirections, just 7-10 days from TX to here.

My Amazon orders are always delivered timely. Maybe they should take over the deliveries ! As of 7 pm last night my order was received in Eden Minn and still sits there. I placed a Macy's order yesterday and it was delivered today by UPS ! That was a surprise !

While I agree there are shipping issues, I also think that overall we’ve become unrealistic in what we expect from shipping times. We all want Amazon 1-2 days.

Now this is not a QVC story, but crazy nonetheless. About 6 months ago I ordered a face cream directly from the company. It irritated my sensitive skin so I stopped using. End of story - NOT.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from the company letting me know that my new shipment was on its way. Huh? I immediately emailed them and said that I hadn't ordered any more and would not pay for it. They replied that there was a glitch in their system but don't worry I would not be charged.

A few days later, a box appeared at my door with the name of the company - the new jar of cream. So I took it to the post office where the lady wrote "REFUSED" in block letters and tossed it in a bin. Guess what reappeared at my door 2 days later? Yep, the same box with REFUSED written on it. I made another trip to the PO, where even the employee was amazed that it was sent back out.

Fast forward about 10 days and yet another box with cream has come to my house. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I wrote a blistering email and received a reply that they were still having problems with their US shipping dept. (British company) and that I should just give the jar of cream to a friend or relative.

I have never been charged, thank goodness, but how can a company operate like this??? If the jars keep coming, I guess I'll just supply the neighborhood with face cream.

Modern shipping is hub-based. Things tend to go to whichever hub is least busy. If a hub gets more packages than they can process, the unprocessed packages just sit in a truck until there's a lull. Then, often days later, they'll get processed.

It's all a bit of a game. If a hub close to you is at or near capacity, a package can end up at another hub all the way across the country that wasn't as busy. The shippers have trucks, planes, railcars going here, there, and everywhere all of the time, so they just shuffle your stuff wherever.

I've had packages thirty minutes away from me disappear from tracking for three days only to turn up in Florida at a hub, then disappear again for three days to end up back where they were six days earlier.

USPS delivered a fruit basket my brother sent me to a strip of grass between two houses on my street. Four houses away from my address that was on the label. I was out walking and happened to see it sitting all by itself, in plain sight, and saw the label with my name on it. Can anyone explain this? I can't.

All I know is I lost my long time carrier who NEVER made a mistake and got replaced by carrier(s) who misdeliver on a daily basis.

My ex carrier went into a supervisor position and tells me USPS is just one big red tape mess. Believe it or not, some can't read very well and are too lazy to walk a few steps.

DD attempted to send me an Easter present yesterday. It was supposed to be picked up by Fed Ex. She got an email it was picked up, but when she got home from work it was still on the porch. She's making another attempt today.
