What Is This Kitchen Gadget?

I've been cleaning out and organizing my closets, cabinets and drawers. I've gotten so much done! I've donated and thrown away bags and bags and bags of stuff.

Does anyone know what this is? It was in a kitchen drawer. I kind of remember using it at some point. I'm hesitant to throw it away in case it's something useful. It's 3 3/4" long and almost 1 3/4" wide across the top.

@NickNack It's a banana saver. You clip it over a banana that's been cut in half to keep it fresh.

Just speaking of gadget's: I bought from David a $25. opener of all tops. I mean this thing opens EVERYTHING. It goes thru the hard plastic tops, tops you have to press down in the middle. There is not one thing it will not open that I've tried. It's really worth its weight in gold. It's the best gadget I've bought in years. Just wanted to share....

Yes, yes, yes! That's the baby, @NickNack! The inventor is a genius! It is just valuable, and everything is so hard to open! Especially with that hard plastic.

I almost feel like buying an extra in case something happens to this one.
