To me, it is an utterly disgusting thing qvc has done by firing Carolyn and Dan. Sweet friends, we will miss you! Dan, especially at Christmas when you talk about decorating your property. And Carolyn, a woman who is a lot like me BECAUSE of her age. So, qvc may find out by doing this that the older population will stop ordering or watching altogether. They want the younger generation? Personally, I think their bottom line will suffer because of this

Actually, they aren't your friends, they are sales people. Dan and Carolyn will be just fine. I'm even older than Carolyn, but when I was 62 years old I was laid off my job as an administrative assistant, being with the same company 30 years. That employer did me a favor. Even at age 62 I had 4 job offers all at the same time. I just recently retired at age 69 last summer, and I'm finally able to set my own schedule.

I predict QVC will go under one of these days. Young people don't shop here, they shop online at Amazon and other places besides the malls.

It seems that younger people aren't buying on QVC. They have families to pay for, home heating bills, gasoline, college for their children, etc. They don't seem to have the discretionary income that those in our age group do. They made a huge mistake.

Maybe, maybe not. How many former show host that I've been fired actually do well afterward? Ask yourself how many? I can only think of Lisa Robertson (I know she quit) opening her own online boutique. Did she do as well? Who knows. But the rest, have not.

That's not what I said. I said, since they lost their jobs, they certainly did not get the same or equal opportunity like you are suggesting. You're saying they will do just fine. What is the definition of fine? They lost their job, their high paying job. Those who have been fired have not done as well afterward. Period.

I'm gone too! This is ridiculous! Does QVC sincerely believer that anyone under the age of 40 will purchase Susan Graver? In regards to their beauty community - hey - I'll head to Sephora and build rewards while I PURCHASE THERE! Wrong move on QVC's part to push aside these hosts. They have shown NO LOYALTY and they deserve none in return.

There host pictures have been removed. I’m hoping that if they were surprised by being let go that they will be fine and maybe even happier. My guess is that QVC lets go of the hosts who don’t generate high sales. But I think that QVC as a whole is not doing as good as it used to because they bring in less TSV stock nowadays and most of those don’t even sell out like they used to back in the day. And I just think that because of inflation, most people are scaling back on spending and trying to save more and make do with what they have and mostly buying essentials. I know that vendors have had to increase their prices because it costs more to manufacture goods now. But the down side to that is that in the past I may have been willing to buy a $49 dollar blouse, but now I’m asking myself “Do I really need that $49 blouse + taxes + S/H? Or can I shop my closet to see what blouses I already have and save that $57.22? I’m not sure when that will change but it seems to be where most folks are right now. But I will surely miss Carolyn and Dan because they seemed so down to earth and were so relatable. I wish them all the very best that the future has to offer them and we’ll done Carolyn and Dan!! 👏🏽🙏🏽❤️

I'm in my late 40's. I was at a friend's house last Saturday night for cocktails and to watch a basketball game. The game ended at 9:15 and one of my friends suggested flipping over to QVC to see if Kim Gravel was on. I don't think we sit and watch for hours, but we are purchasing.

@livinthelife101.... I agree with you when you said Carolyn and Dan seem so down to earth and were so relatable. That's why l enjoyed their shows. The Q must have taken their pictures in the middle of the night because they were still there for quite a while. I figured the pictures would still be there until at least midnight ... I'll miss them both.

Mike Rowe was fired and he is doing much better. Many hosts that have left QVC are doing well and say they're happier. Some left QVC for better jobs on their own.

People are fired every day and most of them didn't make a huge salary.

Popular QVC hosts make a lot of money. If they invested and saved as they should have, they will be okay. Also, they can collect unemployment compensation

Employers do not take into consideration if an employee is going to be rehired someplace else in a good position, nor should they before they let them go.

It is what it is. Chances are most people will be let go and fired at least once and probably more than once during their working career.

I feel more empathy for the warehouse workers making $15 a hour who were let go. They are going to find it more difficult to find new jobs....about 400 people in all were let go. We don't "know" them, but they will have more hardships than a host or two who is used to an affluent lifestyle and made enough money to be able to survive a layoff.

Job loss ranks in the top five most stressful events in life. I was let go twice in my lifetime and both times I had to move to find another job. Moving is another one ranking in the top five most stressful events.

@SilleeMee .... I agree that moving is very stressful !!!! I was talked into moving at age 69 ... It's 5 years later and I'm still not settled !! I have health issues and I'm alone so l never should have done this big move! Anxiety and stress? Big time !!

No, they are not our friends--they are salespeople.

But QVC itself was the one that wanted everyone to be friends. They pushed it and still do. We're a big family, trust us, have fun, follow the hosts on their social media, etc.

And then they drop two well-liked (apparently), longtime hosts without a word.

They should have expected a reaction.

Well, both my DD and DIL are educated professionals. They do not shop on QVC. They have their favorite stores and shop there. In fact, I do believe they think QVC’s shoppers are basically much older women. Good luck with trying to get women like them buying QVC clothing. And good luck thinking they would sit through shows with some behavior that is downright silly and childish.
