My Voice on Computer Prompts

A few minutes ago I tried to activate my updated credit card. The computer said it could not recognize my account. "Try again using the key pad" was suggested. I did. The computer quickly said, "Welcome." We proceeded through the activation process smoothly.

The problem is with my West Texas drawl. I was born, grew up here, and cannot lose my drawl. Every word is stretched to its max. If it has three letters, I probably make it sound like 3 syllables. Does anyone else have problems with speech being recognized by today's computer programs?

@On It lol, huge belly laugh here. Anytime I use any voice response system, I'm told they can't understand me. Same Texas drawl.

Given a choice of speaking or punching numbers into a phone pad, I always opt for the phone option.

The world needs to learn to speak Texan!

I'm so happy when the response includes numbers. I choose that, of course,

@Kachina624 one of my favorites is a Texan accent. In fact any Southern accent.
