New passion for the color orange.

It just pops and is a great accent. It could be on anything.

Heard the other day that they said some form of pink was this years "color". Has it ever been orange?

Anyway, what color are you just crazy about now?

Interesting topic. @qualitygal , I do think sometimes our preferences for different colors can come and go. For some people, they remain more fixed.

I've noticed certain designers are partial to orange in their projects. There's a Chicago house in the Home forum that has orange -- a luscious pale melon tint on wall, and a deeper orange velvet couch:

I think it's a great choice for this Chicago Victorian-- brings much-needed warmth, esp. now!

I do like orange but more toward a lighter shade, coral perhaps. I do go through phases at times but always revert back to my blues and greens.

I enjoy orange in home decor....mostly in an accent piece and as long as it's not a light shade/pastel.

Seems to me that I remember alot of orange in house goods , furniture and clothes around 1967-1969 . I had some corduroy bell bottoms with orange inserts .

Pantone's 'colors of the year' in the orange family have been Tangerine Tango (2012), Living Coral (2019), and Tigerlily (2004).

2023's color of the year is a deep-pinkish shade of red (not pink) called Viva Magenta. I like thiscolor.

I just signed in and saw this thread, I LOVE ORANGE!!!!! It's been my favorite color for quite a long time. Orange looks good on me and I own dozens of orange/coral items. My kitchen is accented with orange and a few of my small appliances are also orange.

I have two orange accent chairs in my living room and my guest towels are orange as well.

@LindaSal Me too. I like the peach shades... I also like the subtle shades of teal or aqua. Peaceful colors.

I often laugh when I remember my grandmother's dining room. It was painted chartreuse. It was really awful. 🤢. It was hard to eat in that room. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I like the color orange....a real orange or even a coral orange color. What I do not like, no how, no way is a rusty colored orange...yuck.

I have my eye on this sweater. I love the spring colors and the fact that it is 100% cotton. I don't have anything like this in my collection. It also comes in blue, which normally would be my 1st choice, but not this time.

Orange works so well with other colors IMO.

@qualitygal I don't pay much attention to the colors of the year because they seldom make me feel good. For example, orange or orangish red or organish earthen or lately even orangish pink are among my best colors. I've never seen orange as the color of the year, but it dominates my life!

Please hide this post from any psychiatrists because my favorite color is brown.

From the lightest beige to the darkest mahogany. Therefore, the complimentary orange

is also a favored color, but with limitations....that true basic vivid orange only looks good in limited applications! I love the walls in the Oznell post, and I even like rusts and (especially) terra-cotta.

My kitchen has lighter wood cabinets and accents of black and terra-cotta. I lovingly refer to it as my Rottweiler kitchen. When Lock n Lock items aren't available in Golden Sand, Copper, or Black, then I will accept and live with Orange. Needless to say, I loved the colors of the 70s!

Nice rainbow striped sweater! (where?)

Many years ago, in an apt., I had an orange shag area carpet. Loved it!

Also, later (still years ago), I loved my crimson red (not sure about the color description...it was a cooler shade of red) shag area carpet in my dining room. Loved that, too.

Replaced it with more neutral patterned area carpet, which was 'hum-drum'.

I might do a re-do with a Home Depot area carpet of many swirled pattern colors....I believe it's called 'Fiesta', but I'm not sure.

I have an orange Beetle. It's 2017 model. I was hesitant until I saw it in person. I love it. It's called Habenero Orange.

Most definitely reds, particularly burgundy, as far back as I can remember. I don't think that will change.
