Lights with multi functions

I have a large string of small bulb lights that have 7 dfferent settings of on and off. I only want steady on...all the time.

This string did not come with a remote to be able to switch back to steady when it starts to go into another light mode.

This light string is plugged into a timer, and even tho I continue to put the 'steady' light mode on the light always reverts to another mode...flashing, which is really irritating.

I like the small lights that are on this string, I don't really want the traditional small bulbs that we have usually used for holiday lighting....any suggestion on how to keep my lights on the steady mode?

@Mom2Dogs They're probably programmed to run through a cycle and there's nothing you can do to change that. I'm with you though, I hate blinking lights.

Sounds like you need a different set of lights with a remote control.

I bought a string of electric fairy lights with a remote. I can change their color and have them morph to different colors with one mode of flashing lights. I never use the flashing mode but sometimes I use the morphing mode. I bought the fairy lights to put inside a VPH mercury glass tree which I took apart and removed the battery-operated flashing light thing on the bottom. I have the glass tree out all year long, just change the light colors to fit the season.

@Kachina624 No they are not...there are 7 different modes.

You choose the mode you want. I always choose steady but when they are on a timer they seem to switch modes all on their own.

I have also had the same set on the light switch...when the switch is turned on sometimes it stays steady, sometimes not.

I have a new set that I bought over the holidays, came with a timer and the functions can be controlled by the timer if for what ever reason the lights start flashing.

Yes, I can buy new, but not really interested in pitching what I have. I did a quick internet search...I guess by opening the circuit box you can by pass the modes you don't want...my husband may want to give that a try...if he ruins the string then I will have to buy new.

@Mom2Dogs, do you set the mode then the timer or set the timer then the mode? Whichever you do try doing the opposite. I have a confusing set of lights that demands a particular order.

If the timer has a remote control then sometimes turning off the lights and then back on will change the mode of the lights.

@SilleeMee as I was messing with the lights, that occurred to me as well. I might just have to purchase a new set of lights. These lights are above my step back cupboard in the family room...they add a nice touch of light in the evening....when they are in the steady mode!!
