Breaking news from NBC, no name or gender given. The person was taken into custody in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

The suspect is said to be a male in his mid-twenties and is a college student, but not at the University of Idaho where the victims were students. He was taken into custody around 3 am this morning by Scranton police and the FBI. Update coming today at 1pm ET. The suspect appeared in court this morning. This info is from a high-ranking law enforcement official according to AP

Apparently, authorities have been on this persons trail and kept details of the investigation confidential to avoid tipping off the suspect.

From what I've read @ValuSkr he was taken into custody in the Poconos, perhaps they took him to a courthouse in Scranton. I used to live in Pike County and familiar to the area.

They said Kohberger will be extradited to Idaho. I wonder how they'll transport him. Charter a plane?

A white Hyundai Elantra was towed from the home where the suspect was arrested, according to NBC News. This was the make of the car they have been looking for.

It has been reported that Kohberger is 28 years old, a phD criminal justice student at Washington State U. located in close proximity to Idaho State U.

The investigators were keeping information so close to the vest and it paid off.

There is no closure for these families; but some justice will hopefully happen for them.

Now the why - why such anger and hatred. And a criminal justice student??? Still just a suspect but we will know more late
