I've actually washed my car (SUV) right before it rains--on purpose.

If I know it's going to pour (no lightening), I get out there with my little step ladder and suds up starting with the roof and work my way down to the wheels.

Then it pours and it literally rinses my car off beautifully. My car is white, so it doesn't show spots.

Sounds crazy, but it works.

A Soaking Day

Our temps were up to the mid 50's today, so I thought I'd get a few things done in the unusually nice weather.

I gave the dog a bath in her little plastic tub inside the house & dumped the water at the curb, so her hair wouldn't clog my drain.

Next, I thought I'd wash my car by hand. I live in a brand new development, and the construction dust on my car was unreal. I used a Jay Leno wash/wax and a washing mitt. I disconnected the hose in September, & didn't reconnect it for this.

I poured 4 buckets of water from the house onto the car out in the driveway to rinse some of the dust off first. Then I filled the bucket with Jay's cleaning solution & water, and went outside to wash every nook & cranny on my car.

Then it was time to rinse. I didn't want hose water bc it's not softened & I didn't want spots. So I ran back & forth a dozen times with buckets of water from the house to the car.

A neighbor walked by while I was rinsing the car & asked how I was. I looked down at my legs & realized I was soaked from head to toe. My jeans were so soaked that they were droopy LOL. My shirt was drenched thru to my bra. And my sneakers were so wet that they squished water with every step. I answered, "Wet. How are you today?" & laughed.

So, my dog got a bath, the car got a bath, I got soaked, the kitchen floor got washed, and I took a shower & put on dry clothes to drive the car in the garage right before it started raining.
