USPS Informed Delivery?

Does anyone have this and how does it work?

Would it help for mail that you didnt receive? 2 people that sent Christmas card plenty early, we never received yet.

I have this--and it works fine. I can see what is coming , both mail and packages. You can go on the website and see your past delivieries too. also tells you when you have nothing coming. doesn't cost anything either. Not sure they can tell you what was not delivered--maybe those people wrote down the wrong address.

Informed Delivery here in our area only means every morning you will receive an email stating what will be delivered that day. They present pictures of the envelope, unless it is too large. They also state what packages you will receive and where they are from. In addition, they state packages "arriving soon".

I like having it so that I know what will be arriving that day but it won't help with packages you are not receiving. I do have to add that it is not always accurate as far as packages. I have received packages the same day that were not on the list. Also, keep in mind, only USPS packages and mail are on this list.

@CherryHugs They send a photo of each piece of mail you are supposed to receive that day. If there is something you do not receive, there is a place for you to check that you did not receive it. They do ask that you give a certain time to see if it shows up. I like it.

Yes we have it and love it.

A photo copy of letters and cards are included in the email as well as tracking number on packages you should receive.

I'm a big fan. Before I retired, I had packages sent to my office. Not possible now. I live in an apartment building without a doorman. Porch pirates were killing me (and other tenants). Informed Delivery lets me know what is coming and when to expect it. I then go and sign up for a specific package's text notification. It hasn't 100% cured all theft, but it helps a lot. FYI, UPS has a similar service you can sign up for at no charge.

In the case of mail missing prior to you signing up, no it's not going to help.

I have it too and love it.

If a piece of mail shows in your Informed Delivery but doesn't get into your mailbox within five days, you can report it as missing. Other than that, there's no other way to see if something went missing before your mail was scanned for delivery.

My mail usually comes around late afternoon, but I can checkout informed delivery around 7 AM so I know what's on the way... also any packages as well...

I love Informed Delivery. As everyone else mentioned, you get to see what mail and packages are coming to you that day. I've had it for years.

We have this and it is helpful.I am aware of mail and packages that are supposed to come.

I had an issue and I will say that the people I spoke to because I NEVER received the mail were NOT helpful. They could have cared less about the fact that I never received these pieces.

Everyone has already stated what it does. I am just chiming in to say that I love it. I have had it for a few years, and it's nice to know when mail is coming and when I do not need to bother to head to my community box to collect my mail.

It's absolutely free which is another bonus.

Informed delivery is very good at letting me know about the junk mail and letters I'm going to received that day. They're very inaccurate in letting me know packages are coming. I'm often surprised to find a package in my box. I find that its not a huge help.

@CherryHugs it wouldn't help a bit with disappearing mail. It just tells you each morning what going to be delivered that day.

Do you mean packages that are coming through USPS. I am always informed when packages are being delivered by them. For example a QVC box that started off as UPS but was switched over to USPS for delivery.

If it's via UPS, then I am not notified.

Love it. Know what is coming and when to expect. Not in porch pirate territory but if something is misdirected I can track it down. One funny story from long ago before Informed Delivery...my cheesecake on my neighbors porch for one week while they were away. No idea it was even sent. I did check on it and they told me it had been delivered. Yeah right! But where? My neighbor came home from vacation and gave it to me. Cold weather so it was saved.

I have had it for years. I know what was delivered to me and what will be delivered to me. If something gets lost by the post office and never gets to you, Informed Delivery can't help you with that.

I have used this for a long time. It doesn't help with mail delivery, it just tells you what is scanned each morning and should be delivered that day. Still waiting on mail that was scanned on Thursday...and now it's Monday. It is good when the weather is bad....if it's all junk mail, I don't even bother walking out to the mailbox. It also helps to know if something isn't delivered so you know it was scanned but is missing. We have awful mail service here so at least you know what hasn't arrived.

I've had it for quite a while and I'm a fan. However once in a while mail that is displayed will come the next day, it is rare but it does happen.

I have reported missing mail many times on their website. What happens? Not a darn thing. My missing mail is always missing. Who knows what they did with it. Most of the time it is only catalogs or ads that someone in the PO deems it not necessary to deliver. However, when it is first class mail, like my annual statement from SS, now that is a problem. Never received it, nor any of the others either.
