I am not a fan of this channel with generic Christmas movies with the same sappy ending and same actors used over and over....

BUT.....

This movie was very cute and well done! From 2016...

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6269192/

I've watched this many times. My favorite though is "A Grandpa for Christmas" with Ernest Borgnine, Juliet Goglia, Katherine Helmond, Tracey Nelson and Jamie Farr. I've not seen it a couple of year or more, so they must not be showing it anymore. No silly romance, more understanding and forgiveness.

Although, not quite a Christmas movie. I remember the movie " Penny Serenade " with Cary Grant ( Roger ) and Irenne Dunn ( Julie) A tear jerker when their adopted daughter , Trina dies .

" their daughter, Trina, not yet old enough to play an angel in the Christmas play, plays the "echo" instead. The following Christmas, Julie writes to Miss Oliver that Trina has died from a sudden illness. The child's death sends Roger into a deep depression, and Julie resolves to leave him, believing he no longer needs her. Just as she is about to leave for the train station, the couple receive a phone call from Miss Oliver, saying that a two-year-old boy has just become available for adoption. Roger and Julie embrace, ready to rebuild their marriage with a new child. "

Hallmark movies are soothing. It is something about the formula they use. Recently a man said he was with his mother who has dementia. She broke her hip and is in a rehab facility. He said the only thing that calms her is Hallmark movies. He further complained about having to watch them.

During 2020 and all the furor that year unleashed, Hallmark movies were my distraction. They have a purpose for many of us.

I enjoy Hallmark movies all year but especially at Christmas. They won't be nominated for an Academy award but they are family friendly and have a happy ending. Keeps things light.

They were not very good and featured mediocre stories, mediocre story telling and mediocre acting.
