Anyone know where I can purchase an actual physical gift card for MC or Visa?

Walmartt, Target, our local Frys or Safeway sells them.

Lowes, Home Depot. Just about anywhere. However, be aware that Visa or MC gift cards often times charge a fee, as opposed to store gift cards. Ask before purchasing.

My bank sells them in their lobby but they charge $4.00 for each to purchase.

Ask at your bank.

We bank with TD and the Visa gift cards are up front fee free if we buy them from there.

Is the bank actually called TD? Mine still charges the $4.00 fee and Amercian Express charges $2.95 and I hate that. I did look at "TD" and is says as of November 1 2022 they will no longer cell gift cards.

Effective November 1, 2022, we will no longer sell TD Bank Visa® Gift Cards. This date could be sooner for TD locations that deplete Gift Card stock prior to November 1, 2022.

They can be found at most drug stores and large box stores like Wal-Mart, Meijer, Target, etc. I've only ever purchased a VISA gift card and I'm always charged an additional $3.95.

I purchased VISA gift cards at our local Rite Aid store. The $3.95 charge was for the activation fee of the card itself.

@beckyb1012 yes, it is TD. Haven't bought them since Father's Day and wasn't aware that they did away with that service.

Years ago, I got them at AAA. Whereever you get them, just be sure the fee is on you and not the recipient.

@rms1954 Have you considered an Amazon gift card? Very easy online with no fee. An email is sent to the recipient. You could give the person a Christmas card and tell him, "your gift is in your email". You do need his email address.

That is my go to for gift cards everything from e-cards and hard copies. Everyone Amazon's at one time or another.

You can get them everywhere. CVS has a good selection. Buyer beware though. Make sure you purchase them from a reputable retailer. A couple of years ago I won a $300 Visa gift card. When I went to use it, the balance was only $25! Evidently scammers take pictures of the back of the cards, activate them and then have fun shopping. I spoke to their fraud department and that was like going around in circles. I had to file paperwork. Which they lost. Then refile it. Then I eventually got an email that they approved my request and a new card would be sent out within the week. I never got the card because they sent it to the wrong address. I gave up after that. Too aggravating.

They can be a pain to use, sometimes the amount has to be exact, etc.

I vote for the Amazon gift card also.

I have bought Visa cards at Walgreens, but there is a $5.00 fee added.
