Scammers Must Think I'm Stupid :)

It was bound to happen. Today I got a scam/phishing text telling me my package couldn't be delivered as they don't have my correct address and I should *click on the link and fill out your information" LOL As if.

I'm 74 closer to 75 and am smarter than these crooks. Blocked it and deleted. Not today you creeps, not today!

@Love my grandkids My Mom was in her 70s when someone called and was trying to get her to give out her SS number.

Mom's response was, "Boy, you called the wrong old lady." Click.

It pays to stay informed and wary of these types of calls , emails and text messages .

@Love my grandkids I received an email earlier today from Prime Service that my account had been suspended. I suppose they thought I would assume it was from Amazon Prime. Joke is on them. I do not shop with Amazon, and I am certainly not a Prime member. I do not open questionable emails just as I do not answer phone calls from unfamiliar numbers.

They must get some responses from unfortunate souls or they wouldn't keep trying so often.

Yes, they're pretty clever even if they didn't outsmart you. I got an email today from my credit card company asking me to verify my phone number so they could send text alerts. It looked legit, so I logged into my credit card account separately and saw they had my mobile number and it was correct. I should forward the email to the bank's phishing department.

Those scammers use computers to dial up the numbers so they can call thousands of people at one time . It's rigged so the scammers get an alert when someone answers , and they can start their appeal on that line. The computer hangs up when the answer machine is ready to come on , they don't want to spend any time with the machine .,only a real person . l read this information in an article about scammers .

I keep getting email from McAfee Services thanking me for my $300 or $400+ order. Its irritating because I have to go to my account and check that there's nothing there.

I recently got the scam call from my "grandson", telling me that he had been in an accident, and that he needed help. I don't have a grandson, but I decided to play along for a minute or so. I was so sympathetic, I asked him if he was OK, and then said oh by the way, which of my grandsons are you? He hung up.

I just received my first Grandma call this morning. The only problem was I was half asleep and when I answered (without looking at the ID) the kid said, "Hi Grandma", and he sounded just like my grandson. I said hi ........ and he asked how I was and I told him I didn't feel well. He said he was so sorry and then said he was in an accident and after I realized he had an Hispanic accent I deleted him. I was so angry with myself for not waking up quicker. That won't happen again.

I received a text this morning that my Netflix account has been suspended.

Ok. That account isn't even in my name, nor does Netflix have my info.

Reported it and moved on.

My sister answered my mother’s landline while I was out recently. Apparently she had never heard of these scams and took down all the information for me to call Amazon back about the laptop I bought.

It’s not always the “older” generation that fall for the scams. After all, you hear about them on the local news or reading news articles, etc. it’s the younger generation that does not do that - will never forget my co-worker’s teen daughter had someone in their home computer because someone called and said they had a virus (or whatever excuse they gave!!)

They are becoming more devious! I received a text from "Amazon" today informing me that a delivery could not be delivered due to an incorrect address. I shop at Amazon A LOT and was almost tempted to check it out but, Amazon was actually Amazu.net., so that was a no-brainer. I did not even bother to check my account.😂😂😂... It pays to be hyper vigilant these days.😊

Never ends. Got grandparent scam. Young man said he was my grandson but made the assumption that I had more than one which I do. He said, "Grandma do you know which grandson I am." I wanted to play so I gave him a name. I also told him how proud of him I was and said I wanted him to repeat his first and last name for my pleasure. That he did. He repeated his first name and his so called last name. He used my last name. Only problem I have four daughters and no way my daughters children use MY last name. Heck he could not even pronounce it. I let him talk and he said he accidentally used his cell phone while driving and hit the car in front of him. He needed BOND money and could I send it. I played him until I got bored and then I told him he did not have a car, he did not share my last name and I thanked him for the entertainment and I HUNG UP. I kept him on for an hour. I wonder who I saved by keeping him busy. LOL

I keep getting invoices that state I bought something. The amounts are always very high and make no sense. I check my account and make sure it hasn't been compromised. My bank is very diligent in notifying me if something is wrong.. Don't these scammers have better things to do with their time. It is very important that one remain alert at all times.

I am 76 years old and very aware of scammers.

They target me everyday. I got what you just got.
Two days ago my so call grand son called from jail. Wanted me to call his attorney and gave me the number. I played along. I didn,t call number, and five minutes later, the attorney called me. Well, that person got a piece of my mind and before I could finish, they hung up on me.
They think we seniors are stupid. I do feel bad if they get one that has dementia. Sadly, It might

Once in awhile I turn off my auto block on our landline. Feel like having them waste their time by being dumb, and say "eh, can't hear ya, speak up"!

Nowadays however most are robo calls, at least 90% of them. Think they prefer to try their scams via emails. Send look alike Fedex/Amozon and hope you will open them.

That danged Alexander Graham Bell anyways!

I got an email from a friend of mine asking if I could do him a favor and purchase an Amazon gift card in his name for some lame reason. Upon looking closer at the email address, it was his email name but not the correct domain. I didn't do it, and called him, and he was hacked- Call to confirm any weird requests!!
