I finally broke down and bought a lottery ticket this morning

Two billion should cover my purchases for this weekend. I am good for one strong holiday shopping spree a year.

No more screaming for the free shipping days. My credit card took out an emergency restraining order against me this morning.

What bank do you actually put a couple billion dollars? Do the Swiss accounts go that high? I like to be prepared. 😂

I used to occasionally. Very rarely.

I always was sure I would win lol!

Same with Publisher's sweepstakes-I was always sure they would come to my door. Eternal optimist I guess.

If I quit, I can't win. I play regularly and win enough to keep me in the game. That said, I keep my foot in with small investment. Don't go overboard like some I have watched. I enjoy having a ticket and enjoy scratch cards here and there. I find it fscainating most to observe those in line and get into engaging conversations often with others. Met a man last evening standing in line for a ticket who has had good fortune for many years and he gave me some tips on best locations to play where he has won. I won $200 on a scratch this morning after turning in a $25 winner and the lady gave me a fresh ticket rather than the cash I expected. I observed and quietly walked away thinking maybe there is a reason... just to come home and win $200 . Synchronicity and good vibes off meeting this gentleman last night. I think this is a good time for everyone to get a ticket for powerball.

If I win I am going to rub it into my ex’s face😂 he got fired for sexual harassment, so he didn't have to pay me in our divorce. He told me he wanted to see me working at Walmart for $15.00 an hour.

DH put in $10. Checked the numbers this morning and saw we got the powerball number. Read that will give us a whopping $4.00 back. Net loss. Seems to be in line with all our investments these days.

The FDIC covers your deposit up to a certain amount. You would have to use several institutions.

I would invest and live off of the interest.

I was buying for the first time in a long time and when I went to pay, the man inline behind me said, I'll pay it for her.

He would not give me his address or phone number, which I wanted in case I won big or something to pay him back.

I took down his license # in case, so I could share with him, if I did, but won nothing. It was 8.00.

That is why I heard it best to take the annuity payments because if you blow the money you can look forward to getting the big check again next year.

While I am sure some lottery winners go bankrupt, we would certainly not! We took our winning ticket back to Publix and used our $4 winnings to buy more tickets. Most assuredly not a good move, lol. Throwing good money after bad.

I really don't know about the way they structure winnings for lottery winners, but it never made sense to me.

Instead of one person winning $100 million, wouldn't it be better for 100 people to win one million dollars?

If a 100 people had the right numbers, then they would split the pot. If one 1 had all the winning numbers the pot is all his. Not a difficult concept. That's how the game is played.

@qualitygal Not my thing either although I have family members that lived for it. I just happened to be at the grocery store and saw the machine. I figured it was worth $5 for $2 billion. Glad I could donate to the IRS. 🤣
