Winter - Classical

Spring - Ragtime

Summer - Ragae, Calypso

Fall - Jazz

What genres and artists do you think sets the tone for each time of year? thanks

I haven't listened to enough to get a feel for a particular season, but my son introduced me to "vaporwave" music, which, so far I have only found on You Tube. It is described as:

Vaporwave is a microgenre of electronic music, visual art style, and Internet meme that emerged in the early 2010s. It is defined partly by its slowed-down, chopped and screwed samples of smooth jazz, elevator, R&B, and lounge music from the 1980s and 1990s.

Check it out! It's "different" but not irritating or offensive.

Spring: classical by Vivaldi, Vaughan, Debussy

Summer: contemporary jazz

Fall: cozy smooth jazz ie Pat Coil's Java Jazz album

George Winston - he has cd's named for the different seasons. What I remember as my favorites are Autumn and also December. Take a listen on youtube and see if you like

Your thread brought to mind a CD I used to play quite often years ago.

It's Brazilian Bird by Charlie Byrd. Music written by Antonio Carlos Jobim.

I just checked Ebay, only vinyl records for sale.

Sigh.

Not really seasonal, unless it is a Christmas selection, but my Mother used to listen to Percy Faith and Ray Coniff when I was a child. I hated it then, but love it now. Perhaps because it reminds me of her😊

The most beautiful instrumental music that I know of is Celestial Mozart for relaxation by Gerald Jay Markoe. It is for all seasons.

My music genre is picked by what I choose to listen to at any given time.

By the season, really? I can get Christmas music during that month. But seasonal? Never been never will, and I have ever genre of real music. That excludes/RAP and Heavy Metal, not music in my musical background of playing instruments and as a listener. 👎

I don't enjoy novelty Christmas music (Grandma got run over by a reindeer, etc.) It is tiresome and tedious to me. So I use Pandora and listen to holiday instrumentals, and that's nice for me.

Whatever I feel like listening to (whenever I feel like listening). I don't equate music with a time of year. The varied genres that I enjoy have no expiry dates as to season.

We go kind of old school and play our own instrumentals. Either myself or one of my kids will play some favorites on various instruments. With Christmas coming next month, secular songs and carols are on our "playlist.". 🎹🎸🎷🎵

I'd say George Shearing for every season!
