    <description>&lt;P&gt;I am like you held off for as long as possible in getting a cell phone .The kids bought me 1 .They think I should always have it with me so when they call I can pick it up .&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But not into that yet I forget it all the time and leave it behind .&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Slowly I will get there .&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I do not like being forced into things but we dont seem to have much choice nowadays&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;I just tried to log in to DoorDash's website to place a food order.&amp;nbsp; It said they had to verify that it's really me, so I need to enter a verification code and will text it to the phone number that is on my account.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;Well, I am a dinosaur and when I created my DoorDash account, I used my (gasp!)&amp;nbsp; LANDLINE phone number, which obviously doesn't receive text messages.&amp;nbsp; So, I need to change the phone number on my account to my cellphone number instead of my landline number.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;WELL, I just spent the last hour attempting to do just this.&amp;nbsp; The website won't let me in because I don't have the 6 digit code that they've sent to my landline.&amp;nbsp; And the only way I can reach my account to change my phone number is to log in to my account.&amp;nbsp; But I can't log into my account because I need to enter the 6 digit code they sent to my landline.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;I called the number they listed for help.&amp;nbsp; They spent an hour trying to figure out how to get me into my account so I can change the phone number.&amp;nbsp; I spoke with 2 different people and they could not figure out how to get me access to my account without the 6-digit verification code.&amp;nbsp; They can't change the phone number from their end, and they can't send the code to my email, either. It can only be sent to the phone number on record--which is my landline number.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;They have no idea what to do.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;So, the final answer is--they need to refer this problem to their Engineering Department who is supposed to call me back today.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;What a Catch-22!&amp;nbsp; This is a stupid problem, I know.&amp;nbsp; I guess I just need to stop using my landline number completely, for anything.&amp;nbsp; I have just been using my cellphone when I am not at home, but I guess this dinosaur had better get into the 21st century and get rid of my landline once and for all and use only my celllphone.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"&gt;Thank you very much for letting me vent!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Have them send the code to your home phone.&amp;nbsp; What's the worst that can happen - you don't get a phone call with the code?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Either that, or just open an entirely new account.&amp;nbsp; Or call the restaurant and have them do delivery.&amp;nbsp; They are losing money through DoorDash and the likes.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I've not done any of these food delivery services, but other things I do offer a choice of emailing.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I do that with&amp;nbsp; most because I just don't give everybody my cell ph#.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Usually have to really pay attention to the small print, though, to see what the choices are.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Everybody wants your cell#, then you end up with getting spammed, advertising, solicitations, etc, and I'm just not up for that.&amp;nbsp; I don't begrudge it others.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For me, if a service that I don't want to give my cell# to doesn't offer another choice then I move to somebody else.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I think a lot of these now days, however, are pretty much 'apps' so people do it through their cell ph# and I think that it is often assumed that any ph# given is a cell.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

It links to all the phones you own, so I always put that number in accounts.       <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I was reading that they aren't providing landlines for residential use anymore in my area. They're tired of dealing with them and have raised the price significantly for us with basic plan&amp;nbsp;landlines. Probably hoping we'll cancel.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I've had issues with people thinking my landline is my cell phone, too, trying to text, even though on paperwork I always list both cell and land. It can still be a problem. &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Seems no one is expected to have a landline anymore. I need to ditch mine, but it's tied into my security system and I hate to have to change out the system. I've been told my older security system is much better than the newer versions. That figures.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Here's my DoorDash&amp;nbsp;experience...someone set an account up in my name using my email address, had an order for $125.00 delivered to a New York address &amp;amp; the receipt paid with a credit card, a picture of where the food was left &amp;amp; the name of the delivery person was emailed to me. I called DoorDash immediately, got put on hold to speak to their fraud department &amp;amp; was assured the account would be deleted...it's still active. I had to place a freeze at all 3 credit bureaus &amp;amp; buy a plan to monitor for fraud...ugh. The credit card they used was not in my name so I don't understand how or why they used my name &amp;amp; email....I'm still worried about it &amp;amp; waiting for another fraud to pop up.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

This also placed my security system on 'problem' mode. It was heck to schedule someone for repairs.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I mentioned to the repair man that I had even had a couple of incidents of my phone turning into a party line, with a lady on my line, chatting away. I had joined the conversation to let her know it was happening and I wasn't eavesdropping. She was aghast and said she'd call for repairs.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;His comment was that the wiring is getting old throughout the systems, stating that this dated system will cause problems like my party line and crashed phone. If repairs are exterior the cost is on them. I'm sure they'd like to ditch such repairs.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I'd be livid. &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;It's scary crazy that they'd use your name and e-mail to order food! They had to know you'd get an e-mail with details. &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Maybe some kid in a basement who got hold of your name and e-addy somehow, just played with opening an account that couldn't be tied to him/her.
